Allo!
Just been out and got myself a new helmet, upgraded from my 2yr old Shoei Raid to a sexy (and VERY light compared to my old helmet) new Shoei XR-1000 Diabolic
https://www.motobay.de/gbilder/1107107.jpg
It looks like that but in black & silver without the blue (to match my bike + jacket for tart factor!).
Wheres the best place to order a tinted visor for sunny days? Not too fussed about it being over the legal amount of tint.
Thanks people. ____________________ RS50 -> RS125 -> GSXR600 SRAD -> 02 R1 -> Speed Triple 1050 -> Ducati Streetfighter 1099 -> DRZ400 Superetard |

These people seem to have a big selection. Just checked and think they do a few for your helmet. ____________________ RooRoo: just like the time i stuck my finger up my arse with no lube at all and she didnt talk to me for hours |

I got mine from Ebay: £30 (Arai). Thats £10 cheaper than any other place.
Silver gave me a link to get a visor and a free visor bag, for £35 or so. If you want to do that. That price was with my Arai visor.
Apart from that if you want just the visor, Ebay is tops. |

This tread is just what I needed, coming back off a ride, with the sun shining in my eyes as it was sooo low.
I needed a tinted visor now I know where too look . |

www.racevisors.co.uk gets my vote. Bought off them a couple of times, no problems whatsoever. ____________________ Yamaha YZF-R6 |

Something to bear in mind, I was talking to Policeman at the MCN weekend is Skeggy and he mentioned that if your visor is illegal and you have an accident then your insurance company will not pay up. Seems relatively obvious, I guess, but it hadn't really occured to me |

It occurs to me that there is a whole raft of misinformation being put around to try and scare people out of doing things which are marginally illegal. I suppose it could have been started by insurance companies and spread by word of mouth, progressively getting worse as rumours do.
I'm just glad and thankful that we've got T.C. around to help shoot down some of these ill founded rumours. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

I did consider getting a tinted visor at one point, but I have prescription sunglasses which do the job sufficiently for me (but I only ride for fun, so people who travel day-to-day, for work etc. might want to invest in one)
Remember, its illegal to stick anything to the outside of the visor, but legal to stick things to the inside, so it may be cheaper to buy some kind of stick-on tinting (make sure you get all the bubbles out!)
I ride a moped with a race helmet (only one that fit me in the shop ). I think putting a black visor on it would just be drifitng in the realms of weirdness |
