Browser choices

I'm generally a fan of both Opera and Chrome, although I've been given Maxthon a go recently. So far, I've been very impressed; much lighter footprint than Chrome, not as counterintuitive as Opera, surprisingly swift response.

Anyone else rocking the slightly obscure choice?

Inb4 lynx - been there, done that, using Windows too much at the moment to justify it currently.

Using Maxthon on the phone, best mobile browser I've tried. Still got firefox on the desktop, a combination of adblock+, NoScript and a cookie blocker are too useful a setup to leave (although in fairness the new IE works very well on a touch screen).

Maxthon can download streamed video, just let the cursor on the video for a while and then you're gonna get save option

Though generally i use Chromium which is basically chrome.

Any decent PC should be able to handles Chrome or Firefox with ease.

No excuse for running sub 4gb RAM noawdays, it is so cheap.

Problem with Firefox/Chrome certain websites with particular designed with drop down menus do not allow you to click on the option, except IE10 does this carry out this properly and so I guess some of these other browsers are not fully compatible!

Also, I found that Google with their own online games take a lot of computer resources for it to run, but when I use an alternative browser IE10 Googles online games look richer with more textures being shown and just as fast as Google plays the game with gobbling up the computing resources.

Firefox I like due to the fact I can use scripts for games as used via Facebook, etc.

Now I only use Firefox with Facebook games for use with scripts while my main browser is now IE10 from now on..!

It's still cool to diss IE, but actually the 10th version is much better than any other browser I have used.

It is a tool to display webpages, I still don't understand the fascination in discussing the pros and cons of a pretty insignificant piece of software.

I see Chrome is the new firefox, in fanboism and resource 'usage'

Firefox always had a massive memory leak for me (not used it in years now though) I got assaulted by keyboard warriors all over just for mentioning the laughable amount of memory it'd eat..and eat and eat. Apparently, I was doing something wrong, and the many, many others that also saw this munching parade of bloat.

Now, I use Opera as a main browser, chromium as a backup, and lynx/links2 if I'm without X.

Chromium takes an age to compile, and I have to compile it through a wrapper to keep an eye on my CPU temps, and pause compilation when it gets near the 'danger zone'

Chrome for me, love being able to sync tabs across different platforms, can turn my computer off and resume my open tabs from my phone or laptop.

Firefox, purely because the proxy settings are separate to the ones for the rest of the PC - it allows me to be in the UK for the majority of my web browsing without requiring an open ssh tunnel on startup for all those annoying auto update checks.

If chrome had that feature I'd be using it tomorrow.

I've been using the same Firefox profile for bloody years.
I dont like chrome, I want a new tab when i double click on the tab bar, not to resize the window....
