Hi

I'm heading to London in a few days and want to do some gear shopping while I am there. (The market in Copenhagen where I live is just too small and consequently very expensive.) Can anyone recommend some good places to go shopping for clothing and gear?

Thanks,
Nicolai

If your willing to take a journey to South London, Leatherhead theres a place called GetGeared.

Always got my gear from there and they are a friendly bunch. Have quite a nice amount of decent stock and more than willing to help.

LOL since when was Leatherhead in South London? it's outside the M25 it is Surrey FFS Laughing Ignore the above Leatherhead is MILES out of London.

Infinity motorcycles Have a few stores in London and were alright, I got my first lid from there.

There is a Hein Gericke in Ilford which is heading towards the outskirts but is right by a tube station.

Metropolis Motorcycles is also pretty cool, I've never bought anything but the staff were friendly and the building(s) the store is in is cool. Well worth a look. Thumbs Up

Links etc.

If you did fancy a trip outside of London, I can recommend, Alpha Motorcycles in Leigh on Sea, I get most of my gear there, you can usually haggle too. It's about an hour away from Central London, there is another shop literally Across the road called Harpers that also specialize in gear.

Or if your north of London. J&S in Watford is a big store, good staff too.

30 - 45 min drive from London, 1 hour max. Barely takes any time, think you forget how small London actually is and how near everything is too it.

Either way just a suggestion, decent shop with decent gear where staff actually know what they are on about.

Right but it isn't in South London like you state is it? Which to someone coming over from another country would be very confusing.

London isn't small it is one of the biggest cities in the world. Laughing

I agree, stating South London is mis-leading. Not a long journey to it by any means though, literally just follow the A3 on the map.

London may be one of the most populated, however it isn't one of the biggest. Within the M25 is only 20 mile squared which makes getting to anywhere within the M25 quite easy.

Like I said before, decent shop with better gear than most in central London. Worth the 30/45 min trip for better gear, anyone can read a map. Its a choice, no point limiting the choices.

Have you ever even been inside the M25? Comments like that suggest not. Laughing

Assuming the OP A has a car/bike and B isn't intending to travel between about 7-10 or 3-6 as it will not take the 30-45 minutes you suggest.

I live in Croydon and work in Old Street and travel in central London all day, so yes I do. Assume all you what but it gets you no where.

I don't see why you have such a problem, I am literally suggesting a decent shop. You even suggested a shop in Leigh on Sea which is even further. Seems like your just complaining for no reason.

Back to the OP, if you do have the time to pop down then do so.

I had a problem because you told the guy the place was in South London. BCF is a great resource for bikers, which is spoilt often by people posting unhelpful nonsense. When I posted about leigh I clearly stated it was out of London, I also posted several decent places inside London Like the OP asked for.

I live inside the M25 and work in London. You think it is easy to get about by road inside the M25? Compared to what? Evening/Weekends it ain't so bad but midweek? Half the day is rush hour.

Thanks very much guys. Appreciate it. Seems like there is plenty to choose from inside London, and if I feel adventurous, I can venture down south.
