Clocks and MOT.

My NSR has been MOT'ed in the UK from 2002, but it has KMH clocks. It is due for another MOT in mid December and I heard the clocks HAVE to be MPH, is this true? If so were can I get a sticker that goes over the top for MPH instead of KMH ?

Technically you must have mph clocks (and with kmh as well), but it is rarely bothered with.

My Senda was fine, and that was a km only digi dash, but i think there is some "moped rule" that excludes the speedo. I think...

My cagiva is km only, but its got a few 30,50,60,70,80, 90,100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150 mph stickers on it for an conversion and thats passed fine.

If the shit really does hit the fan, take it back to the shop where it originally came from and tell them that they have been selling "goods unfit for their intended purpose". Worked for my headlight that dipped the wrong way.

On that point, check your light. If your clocks are km only, its likely that your like will dip the wrong way.

If you need stickers then Both M&P and Busters had them at one time. Mind you I expect they cost more than buying a 2nd hand set of MPH clocks from ebay

My trip meter and mileometer are both in km. I have mph on the inner scale of my speedo though.

Yea all my clocks are in KM... no mention of MPH anywhere!

No problems with that area at the end of October, and I went to a fairly strict place!

I don't think it is an MOT fail, as I remember the speedo doesn't even have to work on the MOT, it's not tested.

BUT

I think it is in the construction and use regs that you must have an mph speedo so a keen copper could in theory do you for it if they were to stop you.

Get one of those sticky clock covers then take it off after the test.

Im doing a handle bar conversion and getting rid of all my dials etc. And im just going to put my digi speedo on in the center...
The digi speed has a mileometer BUT obviously its started at 0 miles, and ive recently had the scooter serviced and MOT'd at 16,400 km

Is this ok to do the change...
