Thumbs Up

Excellent choice. It's what you wanted all along wasn't it?

What colour?

Isn't that the way it always is. You like something then trawl about looking at others and end up going back to your first choice.

Its like waiting for Christmas day now.

I had an XJ6 for about 5k miles. Lovely bike. Mine was the faired version but the ride is very similar - handles like a dream. Yamaha build quality is up there with the best. As for the exhaust, not everyone appreciates a louder one, depends where you ride and your neighbours etc. See how it goes - many bikes are quiet these days, noise does not suit everyone. Enjoy!

You should check out the GSX650F, more chimney than exhaust! The XJs is tiny in comparison.

I nearly got SMIDSY'ed today by a twit in a pickup pulling out to pass a truck on a stretch of dual. He said he checked his wing mirror. If I had a louder exhaust he might have heard me. Anyway round me there are enough guys in scoobies trying to compete in the loudest exhaust competition I doubt if I get a noisy exhaust it would make much difference.

I got a decent trade in so was able to put a whopping deposit down.

I'm hoping to get some good weather days off work and going north up the coast roads around to Inverness and back down so would be good to do a run with company.

Congrats on the new bike mate, really like them myself, if I was going to stick around the 600cc mark I'd really consider one myself even though their very similar to my ER6.

Enjoy and ride safe.

No probs, I work offshore so weekdays are no problem at all. A good run to do for twisty roads is through newpitsligo - macduff - portsoy - cullen - fochabers.

Doesn't take too long really (as I need to be back to pick up kid from school at 3:00) so good few hours involving mandatory ice cream in cullen.

Hopefully see you trawling around on it.

What colour did you go for?

Basic black. Not much choice really, it was that or white or 'race blu' which is matte black with blue wheels.

Think you made the right choice there.

Im home for 3 weeks next Wednesday (05/06) so drop me a line on here if you fancy a run somewhere as I will be out and about on the bike most of the time. Even planning a wee trip to Knockhill for the BSB's.
