 |
|
Suddenly interested in a 125cc supermoto for when I do my test in a couple of months! But I don't really know any so far I like the Yamaha WR but haven't looked into speed!
Not a big fan of the DT's looks, my friend has an XR 125
What are the best? As in looks, speed, reliability and sound |

Husqvarna SMS 125, they're not the cheapest 125's but by the far the best 125 SM. Reliable, look great, do about 70-75mph (4 stroke model) and they sound amazing with an after market exhaust but.. there's not many around for sale and expensive.
I'd also look at Suzuki DR125 SM, they're reliable, looks okay, not to bad on the performance either, top out around 70 (according to mcn's review) and u could probably pick one up for a reasonable price.
I'd also consider the Aprillia SM125 if u really want speed over maintenance, does about 95mph and is 33bhp (de-restriced) it's a 2stroke so will need rebuilds every now n then and a fair bit of maintenance but looks great and is a very quick supermoto 125, looks gorgeous and personally i love the noise of a 2 stroke
If you have the money, buy a Husqvarna SMS 125 with a leovince exhaust (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGoY7TzBo4k) |

I'd suggest buying a SM if you aren't going down green lanes. I have a 1997 DTR, and the handling on the road in the rain is terrible. Especially under hard braking.
Just take into consideration a SM and trials bike will always be favoured by a motorbike thief compared to a commuter or scooter etc. |
