Hi,

I have a Suzuki Bandit GSF 600 on an 05 plate, it has been lowered as I am 5foot5 with an inside leg of 27 inches.... I know!!!

I have been riding a total of three years and have only just learnt how to tighten my chain... I still do it under supervision....

How can I alter the bike to make it look better? simple things that I can do myself or get someone knowledgeable to do.

Thanks for any input no matter how sarcastic Middle Finger

[quote="Bubbs"]How about some lovely headlights?

In all seriousness I have seen a few 1200 bandits with nice headlights, one rectangular and one that was a twin headlight,

also they had goodridge lines/hoses? thoughts?

I noticed a few nice seats with coloured lining?

cheers

Mini indicators
Bar end mirrors
Renthals
Belly pan
Tail Tidy
Universal Headlight
...Rimtape.... you may need supervision for that though, incredibly hard task to apply.

Some things i've done to mine:

Renthals, Red clutch/brake levers

The belly pan, custom headlight brackets (suzuki logo branded)

Call me what you will, but I think the day's of wanting to mod a Bandit to make them look cooler, are long gone. By all means fit aftermarket parts as replacements on the cheap for pricey OEM stuff. Or do mods for practicality or safety etc.

But the Bandit is these days pretty much a cheap and disposable ride to work 600cc, and if I had a decent reliable one, id be just feeding it money for servicing, tyres and fuel, while saving up for a more soulful bike that would do some things much better.

Anyone who goes out and spends say £600+ on cosmetic improvements on a 90's Bandit etc has really missed the point I would say.

Might be cheap and disposable to some people but it's all I can afford, and what i'll be planning on keeping for a few years. so what if I want to add extras to my bike to suit my taste? They have cult status and a large following, I won't have a problem selling it.

Also people will forever spend money on pointless aftermarket parts regardless of what bike it is.

Hey, mine still gets ragged to fuck Laughing
Honestly though the renthals I picked up for a fiver, they're wider and maybe it is phsycological but they felt alot more confidence inspiring around corners.

i'm not trying to make mine something it isn't, I'm just into changing things around. Not really into the whole standard thing Smile

I have a small screen on it now just to help with the motorway, I dont really know what a street fighter is... I thought they have a jacked up back end? and I have lowered mine so I can fit on it.. so surely I cant streetfighter it??

The Bandit is my first 'big' bike and I love it, 'Bulletproof' I have heard it called! However......I love cruisers!!! (i know what response that will get)......... however....I dont love chrome!!!

A rat virago is what I am after, however I would keep the bandit as the commuter......THOUGHTS?

Belly pan,
Aftermarket exhaust,
Renthal handlebars,
LED or small indicators,
Seat cowl,
Radiator cover that says 'bandit',
Bar end mirrors or coloured bar ends
Rim tape stickers
Braided brake lines (in red or blue)
and a tail tidy with a smaller number plate Smile

It has Renthal handlebars
Whats a seat cowl?

I have seen the Goodridge Braided lines, but only in silver... think they look good like that

how much realistically would all that cost?

I can't understand how on a bike forum people tell you NOT to modify your pride and joy and get to know it more by working on it.......

First I would advise doing the usual braided lines, renthals, some nice levers, add a bellypan. Make sure it has some seriously sticky tyres.

As you say you want to learn about the bike I would recommend maybe a bolt refresh, update them all to alloy/whatever colour you like. Then work on making it immaculate, even if that means removing things to clean it, it'll help you understand the bike as you remove clean and refit bits.

In that case I feel I may be able to help. Your new mod list:

Anodised bar end weights, preferably pink for the extra bhp.
Fake carbon tax disk holder and levers, lighter and more importantly cheaper than the real stuff.
"Bandit" rad cover
"Bandit" laser cut heel plates
Dommies so you can't see where you're going
A stupidly stubby exhaust, from Dan Moto, or just a bit of staffold tube nicked from somewhere.
Fake Renthals preferably gold so they clash with your new bar end weights.

Your new riding gear:
Nitro helmet with iridium visor
Urban camo trousers
Ecko Hoodie.

HTH Thumbs Up

Not all prices are accurate, some guess work was chucked in there for parts i couldn't find on ebay but based price on same parts for different bikes.

Belly pan - £80
Aftermarket exhaust - £0 (you have it)
Renthal handlebars - £0 (you have it)
LED or small indicators - £20
Seat cowl - £80 (plastic cover for your rear seat)
Radiator cover that says 'bandit' - £50 for a stainless steel one
Bar end mirrors or coloured bar ends - £15
Rim tape stickers - £3ish (cheap mod, very cheap)
Braided brake lines - £60
Tail tidy - £70
Small number plate - £15

Total = £393 -/+ £50.
