PostPosted: 11:50 - 31 May 2013    Post subject: Which license stage for me in a year? Reply with quote

I've just been looking into this, and I'm not sure now when exactly I can do my full license.

Was reading this site:

https://www.bikelicence.co.uk/

Now from that it seems there are 2 routes to an 'A' unrestricted license.

I passed my A2 a couple months ago, and turned 23 last weekend.

So in 1 year, I'll be 24 and old enough for Direct Access, but I'll only have held my A2 for about 14 months.

So would I still be eligible for DA based solely on my age, or will I have to see out my 2 year A2 period?

I've just turned 24 and had my full license for 6 years now. I'd have probably cried and thrown my shit over the walls if they'd changed the age before I reached the threshold.

Still, safety first Thumbs Up

Just leave it as it is now, did you pass A2 under the 33hp law. If so, remove restrictors or wait it out.

PLENTY of people have ridden with no restrictors...

I passed 2 months ago, so I'm on the 47bhp restriction.

If I can do my DAS in a year and get my Daytona, it'll be HASHTAG EPIC.

"Still, safety first " Are you condoning the absolutely illogical third directive from the wankers in Brussels? Shocked

The 'New' rules path to a licence are fucking rubbish.

You can still be a fucking idiot on a bike at 54. Soo the 'no DAS until one is 24' is rather redundant.

Just sayin'. Neutral

Aye, I was just hoping for some more definite answers.. I guess it'll be known for certain later in the year when more people have actually tested it..

I phoned the DSA - 'Our office hours are 8-12, Monday to Friday.'

I phoned the DVLA - 'Due to industrial action ... we are unable to take your call, goodbye'

Fuck 'em both.

It was said tongue in cheek, hence the Thumbs Up

As in, exactly what you said.

Well I, for one, don't believe that you two believe that what you say you believe or don't.
