Any preference to the two above?

Only a quid between them.

Read the small print on both policies, see what they're going to gouge you for alterations / cancellations and whether they have any crazy conditions like not covered unless in the bottom of a locked garage stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying "Beware of The Leopard".

Hardly warrants not going with them, there isn't an insurance company around that hasn't got some kind of horror story behind it.

They are basically the same as far as I am aware, its just two different trading names for the same firm. Hastings are a bunch of tw*ts as far I am concerned and after being messed about by them I swore I would never use them again. But I have because they were the cheapest option by a good proportion.

Oh and never ever give them your real phone number - they must sell it on the every marketing firm, PPI and claims firm going and you will be plagued by cold calls there after!
