Thinking of selling my GSXR SRAD any thoughts on price?

Hi,

Ive recently had my trusty Suzuki GSXR SRAD 600 knocked over in my work car park, luckily I found the car driver, but her insurance has written it off! I got a nice cheque for £1600 plus my bike back.

Now Im thinking of having the few scratches painted and selling my bike on for something a bit newer. It was in brilliant condition before the accident, has only done 17k miles and has been regularly serviced.

I will add some pictures so that you can see the small amount of damage, I have already got a new headlight for £50 and just contemplating whether I should get the scratches painted.

So my question is, do I get the panels painted and sell the bike, or just try sell the bike now with the scratches, anyone have any thoughts on what I could expect to sell it for either way?

Difficult 1, maybe change the head light, and try and get a nose cone off flea bay same colour, leave the side for the new owner, I was thinking maybe 1300 before scratches, fix headlight and nose cone 1200, wouldn't really be cost effective to get those bts painted.
Is it a cat c ?
What's you new bike gonna be ?

I'd just sell it on as it is. No point wasting any more time on it. I'd just sell on (I reckon you could get like £1000 for it as is).

Leave it as it is, someone will buy that. You won't cover your costs if you get it sprayed

Youre probably looking at £80-£120 to get the nose resprayed if you remove it from the bike first, £20 quid for the lamp cover from ebay, and if suzuki are anything like kawasaki, about £75 for the nose stickers alone.

The effort of organising it all, delivering it, collecting it so you *might* make another £50-100? I probably wouldn't bother.

On a side note, those are fantastic looking bikes, I love the massive ram air ducts either side of the nose

I reckon no more than £750 in its current state, I bought the same bike in good condition with 12 months mot and tax for £1000 in 2011

It was a cat C write off, I have no idea how as I think the reason behind the cat C and not D was brake lever and brake pedal, these didn't even touch the floor when it got knocked over!

Ja7 - I'm thinking of getting a GSXR K4 750 or perhaps going completely different and looking at a Ducati Monster.

_Troy_ - Nope wasn't in Bournemouth, It was actually at my work so the person that did it had no escape!

Well it seems that everyone thinks I'm better off just trying to sell it how it is! Does anyone know about the situation with VOSA? I think as it was a Cat C write off I will need to have it tested before I can get it back on the road? Is that correct?

Well good luck, going back to my original price might be a bit much as its a cat c, maybe try a grand, it doesn't seem a lot to get it beautiful again, you have good mileage

Stick it up for 1k, probably get an offer of £900 near enough straight away bud

If take any offer over £750, bare in mind it is a write off and will put people Off. But yeah I recon you'd get £900 pretty easy
