I know everyone on this forum hates charity efforts, however I also know everyone loves horror films especially ones where innocent victims are mauled by monstrous Soviet entities bent on humanities destruction.
If you can spare a microscopic amount of cash to help a kickstarter project then support this film:
"In the spirit of sci-fi/horror classics, Alien and The Thing, Harbinger Down is a tense, claustrophobic full-length creature film that will feature only practical Animatronic and Makeup Effects."
This isn't a bunch of college students making a fan film - this is the same crew who made The Thing, Aliens and Tremors.
It wasn't my idea to post this topic here - Lance Henriksen (Bishop in Aliens) said I should.
Even though the film is based on a Trawler in the Bering sea, the word 'Bering' is a tenuous enough link to motorcycles as bikes incorporate 'bearings', so as you can see it's relevant.

Is it spam? It's off topic certainly, but that's what this part of the forum is for I thought! I guess by that rationale any Kickstarter project is spam.
They're close to $200,000 - need $350,000 (£230,000), that's a ludicrously tiny amount in Hollywood terms, a fortune to most of us.
I contributed to two Kickstarter projects last year, both of which happened, hopeful that this one will as well.
Ironically I teach 3D Animation (CGI) as part of a BTEC college course, but I make replica movie props (Predator Masks, sci-fi weapons) as a hobby using the traditional methods, clay, silicone, polyurethane resin and lots of paint!
Guess that's why I like this project, it's all the old skills in what looks like a proper splatter film!

What you could do is come on BCF after seeing the film and say "I didn't fucking contribute a fucking thing to the fucking film and it was still crap as I was expecting a Michael bay style CGI fest". |
You're talking to the person who enjoys stop motion and animatronics, I don't care for CGI, I certainly don't care for a bunch of rich Holywood faggots money grabbing for a film that I will no doubt, never watch, never care about....ooooh a horror film at sea, because those have always been really good films.
Banning someone from what is going to be a shitty B movie at best, is like telling a disabled child with no legs they can't play football, they know they can't play football, they have no legs.
Just watched 2 minutes or so, all I saw was an alien like creature, with tentacles pop out of a mans chest......how original, never seen that before....from the same man.....a million years ago.
Sorry but you sir are taking the piss, millionaires who have worked on massive Hollywood films asking for money, for what appears to be a rip off of several films, now I applaud animatronics and make up art because CGI these days fucks me off, but that takes the piss, you might as well just be a beggar in a Hugo Boss suit with a high end Rolex on, asking for money to feed the kids.

God wish I could stop responding to trolls! The only involvement I have in this is posting the link - I don't work for them, I don't know Lance, I live on a island where the closest connection to Hollywood is a Holly bush.

But I am not trolling, I am telling you I don't give a fuck about this film, or their money grabbing, or the idiots who have donated money to them, I guess you're one of them. Why do you think we care? You must have some involvement.
If I was trolling I would be telling you how good it is, whilst sniggering to myself and then trying act like I liked it, but it looks shit and it is clearly being run by some shisters who have millions in the bank but don't want to put their own money on the line, wonder why that is.
I don't know why you are trying to get our money for this film, you can give me as much abusive karma as you like, I am not the one trying to promote a shit film that needs money, because the rich people making it wont stake their own money.
