Father and kid ride for father's day

Father's day weekend is a long weekend here. 3 days. I planned a 1800 km trip for father and son/daughter or mother and son/daughter. I had to limit it to 3 bikes with pillion as organised chalets on route.

It has to be pillion friendly so the off road bits are not too severe and daily distances manageable. A trip to the low veld. accommodation organised so no camping stuff to make it pillion friendly without too much luggage to do some gravel.

It runs along the mountains on the Swazi border on the old military road (the roughest bit), then down through the Barberton area, all gravel, along the margins of the Kruger National Park. First night is a rented rondavel/chalet through a contact of mine in Hoedspruit.

Next day continue along the kruger park, through tribal areas to Giyani, then to Tzaneen, along the escarpment to God's Window and Bourke's Luck, for a night at a friend's place in his chalets.

3rd day is up Kaspersnek, from 400 m above sea level to about 2300 m, on the old gravel road used by Boer Kommandos, steep but road fine for a pillion. then back home.

Going to organise game drives for the kids so adults can have champagne breakfasts or braais. Kids don't want to spend the whole day with parent and would like to do kid trips into the wild with just a guide. and My friend at bourkes luck will take them canoeing down the Blyde river canyon, and we pick them up for the ride up kaspersnek. with a bush braai packed on bikes where we collect them.

And there is a back up vehicle making the rounds of spas, coffee shops, resorts and only meeting up evenings for spare kids and adults. Following a more direct tar route. for girls and single mums whose boys are on bikes. separate accommodation. Just to hook up with dads and die manne for meals.

I thought Father's day and the like was where other family members did stuff for you and not you deciding what you want to do.

This seems like....... say it was my birthday and I decide what the party is.

Sounds good to me rather than let others decide what makes you happy.
