Do short levers make any real difference in everyday riding compared to normal ones, in like an oh shiiiiiiiiit I have to stop right now kind of way.

If you are looking for improved braking then try a brembo mc, levers won't make a difference to braking strength.

When I first started two-finger breaking it certainly took more effort. After a week or so it was fine though. Just what you are used to I suppose. There have been a few hairy moments since then and stopped just as fast as before.

Your index and middle fingers are your 'precision' digits (the others are strength digits). I notice a lot more finesse and feel of the brake with two fingers - I also have more confidence braking harder due to the former.

You get used to the change, I have lost the use of my little finger on my brake hand and my body just adapted to it before I actually realised it had stopped working,
