£160 for ride-in-ride-out, BT39SS are a better bet for hardcore roundabout warriors, they are a softer compund and the front has anti-shimmy slats cut into it.

Well my advice would be to go 4 a set of Dunlop Sportmax, they're the one's that cum standard on the RS. They are incredibe tyres, although ive heard there can be probs gettin one of them, i think its the back one.

Failin that a set of Bridgestone Battleaxe's would do the job nicely! My mate has them on his and they seem to work well.

My only other thought would be to get a set of x race tyres, we can get them over here 4 £50 for the set, they dont last very long on big bikes but they will last OK!

Make sure you get a high speed rating, z is good! h is bollox! Mito mad cunt tells me the h rated tyres wont heat up for fuk all so there's buger all grip!!!He had Battleaxe, one with each rating and he luved his back one so much he did rolling burn-outs til he needed a new tyre!!!

He has Dunlop Rideen's on his at the min and the work great, he near kills me everytime im on the back tryin to touch my head of the fukin kurb!!!!

Dunno which tyres are the best but Ive got BT45's on my NSR and they seem ok. Haven't got anything to compare them against though as they were on the bike when I got it. They made an awful noise when my bike locked up on me in August - but I couldn't notice a flat spot anywhere on them! Confused

Its probably worth taking the wheels off yourself as this can save about £20. It cost me £130 when i took mine in. Ive got the ss at the moment and i havnt got them to slip yet, whereas the pirellis were all over the shop!!!

Hi

Not keen on Sportmax tyres. They are OKish on the RS, but pathetic in the wet. They are ZR rated, and having a tyre for a sustained 174mph is a bit OTT on a 125. I suspect this is why they are so bad in the wet as they never get up to temp

All the best

Keith

Is it possible to fit a thicker back tyre, like on the bigger bikes, to an NSR?

Yes but you will murder the handling characteristics. Stick with the 130 section rear but get yourself some sticky rubber. The NSR has no problems with getting the power down and you're hardly at risk of highsiding it. Only whack on big tyres if you're sliding the rear a lot under power in corners, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Fit the smallest size tyres that do the job of gripping the road well, the smaller the size, the more flickable the bike, and the more you can embarass people on bigger bikes.
