Bugs me when people make a blatant nuisance of themselves just to proves a point. But... they always do prove a point! Laughing

Coppers need to wind their necks in, and vast swathes of society need to think as humans again.

And it was quite a shocker to see the venue being guarded by undercover coppers so early before the event. Actually it's a shocker to see them guarded by coppers at all. Surely it should be the job of a private security firm.

I've seen many, many videos like this. We live in a society were the police are suspicious of people video taping them and not wanting to give their name or identification.

I'm not sticking up for the coppers here and as much as I like watching a guy like that get away without surrendering his name (rightly so) but imagine if that guy was dodgey and the police just drove off after he refused and they guy goes on to do something terrible. People would be up in arms about how some loony managed to stroll around and do all this stuff without being questioned by the police.

Fair enough if this was somewhere random but a month later to that video, some of the most powerful people in the world are going to be meeting there, it's not exactly an everyday situation where they guy got pulled over in his car for nothing.

I did love the fact he got away without telling them anything but I also see the plods pov there and they weren't being wankers with him.

Cool video though, love stuff like this Thumbs Up

Well it's a question of the police using their brains, and the police just conforming to doing what they do without thinking.

They wanted his name. Why? What's it gonna prove? Oh, he isn't a wanted suspect, he has no terrorist affiliations, he's not under MI5 surveillance.... therefore they can tick him off the list as a guaranteed non-bomber? Makes no sense. They were asking his name like robotic drones, nothing would have come of it.

Nothing against the police, but societal paradigms need a reboot.

Bugger - I got as far as Watford Junction and just thought it was a spacker with a mobile filming out the window and really couldn't face the thought of watching half an hour of someone else's train journey!

That's my original point though, they didn't know any of that because they didn't know who he was! I'm not saying I agree with it but I see why they wanted to know.

What if the guy was known to police, mentally unstable, history of violence/wanted?

Let's pretend he was a loon and he savagely attacked some poor cunt who he thought was a fat cat banker or politician? The police would've been quick to get all the blame pointed at them for not checking the guy out and letting him slip past them.

I do see their point of view but I like the fact Sam walked away without revealing anything to them.

Ok - so second attempt, come in at ten minutes and Mr trainspotter is now filming golfers and ducks Laughing

There are some interesting arguments to be had with this clip.

Both stances are correct, we value our freedom and yet scream blue murder if the establishment has had cause to investigate someone and they've gone on to commit foul deeds - just look at the furore with Woolwich and the 'domestic security's' involvement.

The same argument could be applied to national identity cards.
I (used to Rolling Eyes ) have no involvement with police and don't agree with having to prove who I am in the form of a small card but (database issues aside) it does provide a quick reference as to who I am (or more importantly what I may have done) but, again, if I'm up to no good then I'm sure there are ways of procuring relevant paperwork to say that I am who I'm not.
Establishment's problem is ferreting out wrongdoing without impinging upon my rights of freedom as a UK/Euro citizen.
So, IMHO, this chap is correct in not giving his name but as a responsible citizen who has nothing to hide he only makes himself look suspicious - thus warranting further investigation.

Mr Redcoat came over as a twat, officer dibble as a 'by the book, how the hell do I get out of this one' and topmarks to the female pc who was trying desperately not to burst out laughing - I'm not sure which she found funnier, the obvious line the journo had taken or her colleague's attitude?

Those who say he should have shown his ID are forgetting one very important point...the second they'd had his ID he'd have been put on The Database as a known activist and subject to ILLEGAL house arrest the next time there was some big shindig on for the filth running the world. As happened to that old couple, and no doubt many others.

The state is a criminal mafia and it WILL illegally shit all over you when it chooses and get away with it. That's why you should NEVER show ID to any of its mindless lackies.

OK, I'm imagining that he was an evil wizard and also a shape shifting dinosaur.

I think that's that scary enough that the police should be able to invent their own laws, point well made.

You are so disillusioned. You are not put on a database if your name and d.o.b are ran through the PNC.

If you provide your name and d.o.b and you've got no record then the report comes back as "result not found" as in either gave wrong details or never had any run ins with the law or not declared as missing/vulnerable.

You're such a bleeding heart liberal that anything to do with the police whatever it is you're going to be up in arms which is your opinion to which you're entitled. What you shouldn't be entitled to is to spout garbage about "databases" and how police checks actually work.

It is an arse covering exercise, as been mentioned, what if he was missing from a care home and/or he was known to intelligence and the coming event and his presence there a month in advance could have provided the link that could in future have prevented a terrorist event occurring.

Main point, you're NEVER added to a database if you give your name to a police officer.

I don't need to believe it, I've experienced first hand. If you're referring to the mystical behind the scenes type government control strategy that you're pushing then these officers clearly aren't going to be privvy to that so if he'd have given his name (he had no need to for the record), it'd have been a "not known" most likely, nothing more, see you later. then if he'd got PNC'd again a week later provided he wasn't naughty it'd still be a not known answer. It won't come back saying that he was checked last week for doing xyz.

you're paranoid hetzer i swear!

Anyway. For some balance, despite being persistent the officers acted fairly I thought. There's lots of terrible examples on youtube where peoples liberties are taken unlawfully.

Acted fairly? Then we get into the entire debate of preventionism vs reaction.

There needs to be some balance in between. In this example the fact that there was a "secret" event with some not very popular people attending a month away and he's filming the grounds/venue personally I see the problem and wouldn't mind passing my details over if that was explained to me.

However if he was filming the place and there was no such event approaching I can understand completely why people would never give details.

Either way the guy got his way in his end and the officers acted lawfully. Can't see much else to complain about really.

I guess I take it beyond the 'normal' consideration, into "so what if a bunch of genetic sewage die?" To whit, so what if a 'terrorist' got into the Bilderberg event and blew up every single one of the sub-human scum? They have tuirned our world into a cesspit, a hell-hole for the majority of people on this planet. So what if they are offed? Is the local bobby going to give a moral fuck? He shouldn't. What the local bobby should be doing is consulting his moral compass for a heading and saying to the weirdo "good luck to you buddy!".

Fat chance, ay.

What are you actually talking about? They weren't inventing any laws at all, although the police officer was persistent, he wasn't making up laws to try and get the guy to hand over his information, he was just putting his case to him as to why he wanted to know who he was.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7BQvt3XeAY

That's a fine example of a moronic police officer making up laws to try and bully someone in to giving their information to him. It's hilarious the stuff that officer tries to say is law.
