I will not ride pillion at all now. Just watching the cycling on TV after the TT and wonder what it is like for the camera guys riding reverse pillion. Anyone done it the wrong way?

Is it legal? If so i will try tomorrow with go pro attached.

It's legal for a pillion passenger to be sitting front to back from what I can gather.

Its surprising more comfortable that sitting the correct way, i had the pleasure of doing it on my friends blackbird Shocked I'm looking forward to see the go pro what bike will you be using?

I thought it was illegal.I thought you had to be facing the direction of travel on open public roads.

Nothing I've found says it's illegal - Highway code only says "should" face forward rather than "must", but a picky copper would probably try to do you on the definition of "proper seat"

I have carried cameramen around on my Pan with them facing backwards. We have covered Marathons so not for short times either.

This is one of those posts where the op cleverly works a phrase into the post to make people answer with an air of a little fragrant frill, that could be slightly misconstrued. Especially when they go back and edit the post to something like "has anyone ever had dirty gay bum sex?"

So in keeping with tradition...

No I've never done it, I can imagine you are safe enough if you're covered head to toe in leather, maybe strap yourselves down if it looks like a bumpy ride and be sure you know the letter of the law before you do it. Oh, and you might use muscles you don't know you had. And your bum will be sore in the morning.
