It's already registered and has a 1966 registration.
You apply for a new V5 on the registration, they send it out, job's a good un.
If it's dropped off the radar for a long time, they might ask you to take it to an MOT centre to show it exists.
If it was actually registered to the guy who's selling it, he can expect a £300 fine for failure to notify the DVLA of a change of owner.

The ad says he didn't have a V5 when he bought it 5 years ago, he has just lost any supporting paperwork like old tax discs, so it has probably fallen off of the system. If you have two old tax discs then you can apply for a new V5, and retain the plate, even if it's no longer on the system.
If it's not on the system you need a dating certificate from a club recognised by the DVLA. It then needs an MOT. It then needs to be insured on a one month temporary policy. You then present the motorcycle, with all the supporting documentation, to the local DVLA office to be inspected. I'm currently going through this process with one of my bikes. |
