How much gear do you wear?

Something that i wonder about regularly.

I've considered maximising my gear i wear day to day to include chest-armour and hip-armour just to be as safe as possible but its prooved such a b-tch to find correctly fitting pieces that go inside my current leathers i'm beginning to consider forgetting about it.

Just wondered what you all wear on your average ride/commute

Done about 11,000 miles since passing my tests 1.5 years ago. 10,980 miles with full gear, about 20 miles without (MOT and back). I just suit up without thinking about it. Feels weird without. Kinda like driving a car without a seatbelt.

External or combined really Fifteen, my suits got a pocket personally to slot one in which is handy, one less thing to put on seperately

+1 to the helmet also zedd. I do own a flip also but just for popping when off the bike touring. Would never ride with it flipped personally heard too many horror stories about accidents with them. Always remember how my bike instructor put it - "no point protecting your head if your chin, jaw and face will get grated off"

Either textiles or some of those Kevlar jeans, jacket and gloves. Haven't got round to thinking about proper boots as yet.

My textiles and leathers have a back protector built into them. The jacket I used to use for work didn't so I got my own.

Always wear them, as someone else said, it feels weird if I don't wear all my gear.

Once rode to get the bike MOT'd wearing trainers, jeans and a textile jacket and my feet and legs felt so cold and weird I wouldn't choose to do it again.

It depends how and where I want to ride it.

If I go to local twisties for some fun where knee downs and speed are involved then I wear my one piece suit.

If I go somewhere far for a lazy cruise and I know the weather is going to be nice then I wear my 2 piece leathers without knee sliders.

If there is a slightest possibility of rain then I wear textile waterproof gear.

If I go to a local shop usually kevlar jeans and textile jacket will do.

I always wear boots and gloves..

Day to day, so shop and back and work within like 2 miles, Helmet, textile jacket and gloves.

When I went away and for long rides I wear boots too.

I always wear at least my jacket and lid and rarely skip the gloves but for the commute and riding I wear either two piece leathers with a back protector or textiles with back protector.

I use boots, textile trousers with protectors, jacket with protectors, gloves and helmet.

I find that not crashing is the best way to not lose any bits.

Hip armour - Hein Gericke hiprotec. The thin one with little bobbles on the inside should fit into any leathers. Works in mine.

It varies.

I've ridden with absolutely no gear, including no helmet. I've ridden wearing full gear.

The most deciding factor for me is the weather and how hard I intend to hoon.

Less and less the older I get for some reason. I used to have 1 piece lethers, kidney/back protector, alpie race boots, carbon fiber gloves, arai flashbang lid etc.

These days I rarely break 50 mph, so its usually just winter gloves (all year round), an arai something or other from 5 years ago I paid full retail £199.99 for and which now seems to have been renamed Axces II and jumped up to a frankly ridiculous £319 (wat?!) and a Skintan leather jacket I got from DK's shop when I had no clue about rip off DK accessories.

Used to have a pair of ebay £40 boots that lasted me years before they finally fell apart. Didn't replace them for some reason.

I am bad, naughty and probably deserve serious injury or death.

Depends what I'm doing. If I'm going to work, textiles, but if I'm going out into the countryside for a blast, then two-piece leathers.

Mines not on there so its jacket/gloves/boots + kevlar jeans and the jacket is armoured back elbows and shoulders.

I always wear gloves. I forgot them the other day (broke my routine) and felt stupidly uncomfortable without them. The rest of the gear is weather depending. I like to ride around in shorts and tee if it's summer-like weather, likewise, if it's rain or wet, I'll put on my leathers.

Depends on where I am going/what I'm doing.

Commuting - Jacket, unarmored gloves, old boots, unarmored overtrousers.

Playing - One piece leathers, back protector, full armored boots, full armored gloves.

Was complimented and then chastised by the paramedic in the ambulance after my accident during a commute...'You were saved by wearing the right gear, but where the hell is your leg protection..?'

Fortunately, at the time I happened to be wearing my armored boots, otherwise I would have a broken ankle. Lesson learned I will be riding in proper boots form now on.

Think i will keep pursueing the hip and chest protector. Im very strict now days with gear. Used to go out with just jacket and gloves if i knew id be getting off the bike a long time or sometimes the work commute (short journey) sometimes but not anymore.

Was lucky enough to have everything on 2 years back in my only accident and im damn sure it saved me on that occasion so since then its hot n' sweaty power-ranger 24/7
