I do imagine it sounding a bit like a truck as it drives past. The engine characteristics will be really strange I think.

Could it be this?
https://www.gizmag.com/go/4272/

If you were doing 18000 miles a year that would save you about a grand a year over a petrol 600. So not entirely pointless.

Same weight as a Bandit 650SA. I wouldn't have either, but some folk can get on with them.

I think that doesn't look bad, better than a lot of lash ups that try to make it to production.

Trouble is, according to their website, they've now called it a day, just 3 left and that's the end.

I imagine the e19500 (ex tax) price tag hasn't helped.

ugly as shit.. but diesel tech has come miles in cars... only a matter of time surely before they become more usable in bikes?

who wouldn't want a nice torquey bike with 100mpg? (plucked that figure out of thin air, obviously... )

I can't see why people are hating the look.

It's an adventure bike, not a sports bike.

I would chuck a belly pan of sorts on it though, and maybe paint the engine black.

About time someone else tried a derv bike...the torque could be amazing let's face it le mans car racers laughed at the derv entry from audi a few years back....then got their arses kicked! Not a sports bike type engine granted but for tourers and hogs and the such....derv tech has come on a lot in the last decade!
