Well just used thebikeinsurer to get a renewal quote as its due next month, Bennets at £111 fully comp on the ER6 Very Happy pays to be a mature gentleman I think. Current insurers want double that to renew which is over a £100 up on last years price.

Pays to shop around folks.

I always use the bike insurer too, seems to be the only one that tells you if policies include riding other peoples bikes or not

if renewal was "double" £111, and "over £100 more than last year"

surely £111 isn't an improvement? especially as you have an extra years ncb, and are a year older, and male insurance decreased in price earlier this year.

Nah, they said my policy would but it didn't!

I think all the underwriters have changed to 25+

At least KGM have, I'm with AXA through Bennetts and they said I'd get riding other bikes but didn't.

Who's your underwriter?
I had a letter with my renewal for KGM which said 25+ now.

And was surprised to find it not on my certificate with Axa.

Equity Red Star, by WickedQuotes.

No mention of any age restrictions in my policy. It's only TPFT too!

I'll have to remember that for next year! Think they were stupidly high this time around.

Pretty sure I've thrown it away, but it definitely said if your policy is underwritten through KGM you need to be 25!
This was with Express Insurance.
I'll see if I can find it.

I'm with the IAM, 24 and have cover to ride other bikes. KGM underwrite their policies.

So just me then! Unless it's new.

Self employed, 21.

With KGM and Axa, neither had ride other bikes.

Going off topic a bit now though! Razz

things do change year to year, and this year things generally have got cheaper. particularly insurance with the eu bringing in that sex discrimination stuff. womens went up and mens went down.

i was also on mx5 nutz page earlier and youngster on there on about how his renewal went from over a grand last year to £392 this year.

I used bike insurer too, got a cheap quote of £223 (cheap for me) of TPFT, ride abroad, ride other bikes etc. etc.

Called them and they managed to get it for £210 from bikesure I think. I'm never claiming though, even if it gets nicked. Not worth it on my ZZR over 5 years of declaring
