Hi i am planing a end to end run lands end to john o'groats on my Lexmoto 125cc 4 stroke in the next few weeks, i would like to know what precautions i should take before i do the run, what would be the best oil to use for best cooling and keeping the bike lubed. Any other advice would also help many thanks.

Would say don't as its a Lexmoto, using the AA to get to your destination is cheating.

I'd probably attempt it on the Varadero. Check tyres, any 10w40 oil, just change before you leave, carry a small bottle if you are worried it will drink some. Lube and adjust chain. Go.

Good map here of the stages. Made for the cycle route but same for bikes I imagine.

Invest in a pair of padded cycle undershorts, you're going to be in the saddle for a while.

Depending on how close you live to the route, you're probably looking at around 1800-2000 miles round trip - think of how much bike maintenance you'd usually do in that period. Some people would get away with just putting fuel in, oiling the chain and checking the tyres, whilst others might need more attention. You know your bike, what do you think it would need?

Do you intend to do some sight seeing on the route and spend a few hours in each place, or do you intend to spend all day in the saddle? That can add extra mileage with the diversions, take that into consideration.

Where are you intending to sleep - camping, friend's sofas, B&B? That'll dictate how much extra stuff you need to carry. Credit card and toothbrush is enough for some, others want to be completely self sufficient throughout - what appeals to you the most?

Just a few things to consider.

Twist & Go mag did a piece on the Lexmoto Street. London to Glasgow. 1,200 miles in 3 days. Best fuel consumption was 128MPG

Sounds like a great idea! Smile

Possibly fit a 1 grade cooler spark plug.
eg if your standard plug is NGK CR6HSA, go for CR7HSA
Just thinking you could be ragging the bike for hours and you might benefit from a cooler plug.
But carry a spare original grade NGK, just in case of fouling.

Also, having just had some success with this. Look into the merits/pitfalls of fitting a +1t front sprocket.
This has lowered by revs by 1,000rpm. Meaning 50-60mph no longer makes my ears bleed.

Good luck!
