I got a brand new NSR125R not so long ago and all is great, just one thing tho, i took the number plate off the other day (only to see what it looked like without) and noticed it had a series of digits and stuff on a sticker, in the middle i saw "SW". Now i thought the bike was a UK one and didn't see GBR anywhere on the sticker. So basicly how do i tell if this is a UK bike? I assumed it was, so how can i tell if it as a CDI restriction, can i tell my the revs, im dieing to find out so i can get a different CDI for it Very Happy

cheers Thumbs Up

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesnt it say whether its an import or not on the ownership documents? Thinking

I believe its only the RR which has the CDI restriction.

Are the clocks in mph or kph? If mph is it a sticker. I know theres a few other signs but cant remember them.

If it is an import it really isn't worth changing the CDI because you get very little power change and it's not just the CDI you have to change. I believe you also need to change the spark cap lead thing and coil.

I went through exactlly the same with my import NSR.

Theres a fair few posts on the subject if you type CDI NSR in the search.

Have a look at the V5.

Where did you buy it from and what was it sold as?

Are the clocks in kmph or mph?

Does it have the normal UK restrictions or different ones?

Headlights?

Old MOT's etc?

Ste,

I got it brand new for £3400, they said it was a UK spec but when i saw the "SW" I was a bit curious, it has MPH on the clock and is not a sticker. where do i look on the frame for the model and stuff?

the only thing they said was it was from anohter country because they sdaid they try to get NSR's from anywhere they can becuase they are popular, the manual is in a foreign language, not sure which one, but it does have MPH and that.

Ask Honda. As far as I know, if you give them the VIN they will tell you what market the bike was made for - you may have to pay for this though Confused

Where did you buy it new from? If it was an offical Honda place then it is a UK bike, if it was some other garage dealing in brand new bikes who weren't an offical Honda place then it's an import.

I believe TonyMoto are known for dealing with imports and they said "UK spec" does suggest to me that it's an import as UK spec is different to being a UK bike. I'd ring them and ask the, or have a look over your V5.

Hi

From them it is 99% certain to be an import.

All the best
