Sounds like it could be the 3rd instalment of the 'Long way...' series.

I did Southampton (well, technically it was Eastleigh) to London on a 125 once, while I was still on CBT ... took me 8 hours Laughing

Although there *were* mitigating circumstances (4" of snow/black ice, traditional hellkattish inappropriate clothing, etc)

So Southampton to Yorkshire on A/B roads should be easily achieveable by someone with a little more common sense than me Laughing

you'll be fine, used to do 150 miles each way to manc and back on the clr125, can't see it being much different but you might want a lil arse break in the middle somewhere, was fine all in one go on mine but that was less miles

Well, you would do that sort of mileage in a week, pottering here and there in short journeys, wouldn't you?

And you wouldn't anticipate having to stop for much, like a major engine rebuild, or an oil-change or anything, in fact, if you were filled up, you probably wouldn't even need to stop for petrol......

So yeah.... its feasible.

Just treat it as a lot of short journeys...... close together!

Would advise you plan your route carefully. Make up directions sheets, you can put into a plastic A4 sleeve taped to the petrol tank, and plan plenty of stops along the way.

Make sure you have recovery-cover.

Do a thorough service on the bike before you leave.

Give yourself plenty of time for the journey, and as much again for rest stops.

200 miles? Cross-Country. You'll be held up through towns, with lower speed limits, and set back by stops, as well as inevitable wrong turns. CG does 50 ish, on main 60mph roads... so work on a rough reckoner of averaging 20-25mph while riding... so you are looking at about 10 hours saddle time or so, plus rest-stops.....

GOING to be tiring, but give yourself a full day, and you could, this time of year do it all in Day-light.

Take a Camera, and the right mind-set. Have FUN. Could be a good day. Remember, its the journey that matters, not the destination; so dont wear yourself out more than needed or push yourself too hard trying to meet the schedule..... take it easy, enjoy the stops as much as the riding, and know you WILL get there in the end.

Not an over-land epic in the great library of over-land adventures, like Jupiter's Travels of the Long-Way-Play-Boys.... but its STILL a pretty daunting and marathon run for a newby, on a tiddler, so power up for that. I did similar journeys in my youth, which did seem to shrink in awsome-ness when I looked at what I took for granted on a big-bike..... until I started tiddling again, and got home after just 50 miles aching, and knackered, from how hard work it is to keep a tiddler making progress, and how push-bike cramped the saddle is compared to a biggun! So it IS no small feat, and not for the feint hearted... but then Newbies tend to not know any better...... and the optimism of youth, and nievity of ignorance can take you a long-long way! Certainly a couple of hundred miles!

Have fun.

I'd much rarther do 215mile's on a CG125 in one hit, than do 140mile's on a KMX200 on a hot evening after work. Couldn't walk all of the next day, and when I did it looked like Id spent the night in an Alabama state jail having things done to me!

Used to love my 200+ mile trips on my 125's, should take about 8 hours with stops for fuel, food, rest, stretches, pictures, sight seeing etc.

EAT well, the hunger used to get to me real quick, as well as some mental fatigue after 4-5 hours.

Riding a motorcycle over long periods in summer dehydrates the hell out of you. Remember to drink plenty of water. It'll keep you alert.

I rode my Enfield from IJmuiden (near Amsterdam) to Erfurt (in East Germany) in a oner earlier this year. That's about 400 miles and an Enfield 350 is no faster than a CG125. I did invest in a sheepskin for on the saddle.

i've done a 280mile trip to wales, cardiff. Took me and my friend 6hours (6hours to cover 130miles there and 5hours for the 130miles back) lol, god knows how.. on our 125's on CBT's using just country lanes and duel carriageways. We did get lost a few times but it's all part of the fun i suppose Smile

It's only 214 miles.. You will be alright.

I've done a few 200 mile trips on Aprilia RS125 without problems.. partially on motorways though.

You'll be fine. I done Liverpool to Portsmouth on a 125 without using the motorways in the pissing rain. Even got lost a few times and ended up turning a 200 mile journey into close to 300.

i have done 108 miles many times in 1hrs 45 mints and 322 miles few times around 4 hours 30 mints on Honda CG 125 in my country. Min speed was 70-80km/h and max 110-115km/h ( For short interval 5 to 10 mints). Stopped three time for bike to be cool down and of course for refreshment. 80km/h is max speed which is suitable for rider and bike as well. dont forget to a tool kit and a eye-drops size bottle full of lubrication for drive chain if applicable for you bike model. Best of luck.

Over 200 miles on a 125 without a hitting a motorway should take like 8 hours.

Riding a 125cc for that long can be exhausting.
As mentioned before - riding dehydrates you like hell.
Drink a LOT of water or you will have a massive hangover next day.

Cheers
Kris
