I have a Sena SMH10 headset which works perfectly and won a recent comparison test in Ride magazine Thumbs Up

What bike is it for mate, you can get some good mounts that mean you can use smartphones as a sat nav [if you aren't doing long journeys without charging stops that is], presuming you have a smartphone also of course Razz

I use Cardo Scala bluetooth with a garmin zumo, had a tomtom rider previously until the mount broke and it went bouncing down the road at 70mph and then got squashed by a truck Shocked

Not a lot of difference between the two, garmin is cheaper, scala headset works great with both.

Scala rider Q1 I've just got to replace my overused scala FM is great, £109 from fowlers in Bristol.
Most of the features you'll need and really good clear sound quality.

Do you find with the bluetooth headsets they work well at higher speeds or does the wind tend to turn the audio from the rider into a load of wind crackle Confused

I've had chats with people at triple figures, it does get a little noisy but even at 70/80 you can have a perfectly normal conversation.

Realllly want the new Sena SMH10R. Not keen on a big bulbous thing stuck to the side of my helmet.

£200 is just a bit too steep to make me part from the 'auxiliary cable/flat speakers' option for music, which is all it would really get used for.

That's what I have and it's excellent. You can adjust the settings on it when you plug it into the PC and set things like how sensitive it is to external noise etc.

Hopefully have one of these arriving in the post.

Apparently it can only handle one input at a time, and at full volume it distorts. But it's £37 and in a recent Ride test of 20 units ranging from this to £380 it came in around 5th.

You get what you pay for, but sometimes cheap tut from China is all that is required.

I just use a £15 bluetooth receiver with sports earphones for listening to sat nav/music.

I have no need of a mic as i've never been in the situation i really needed to answer the phone there and then or need to make a call on the bike while moving.

the kit arrived and was simple to install

Found the best sound quality by turning the BT unit to 0, then the phone up to 9/10 and slowly increasing the BT unit until happy.
Has the potential to go quite loud.

Audio quality from CoPilot was very good. Phone was pretty good, bit of hiss at higher volume. As a BT device for a Satnav and phone, really pleased with it!

It does struggle with music though. Limited mid-range and naff all bass means it's like listening to in-ear headphone that are an inch away from your ear. Turn the volume up too loud and it overwhelms the speakers as they try to put out many sound ranges at once.

They are ok, I went for a 90min bimble and sang along fairly happily (and completely out of tune). But the quality is not there.

Recommend as a wireless extension to phone+satnav, absolutely. For music, no.

Are there any flat helment speakers that do work with music, or is it just the inerrant nature that they will be crap, just different levels of crap?
