issues while riding

Good evening,

I have got my hand on a sport bike with clip on handling . When riding this for extended period of more than 10-15 mins, my man area goes numb. also back will heart badly

This question may sound foolish but thought ask if this happens to anyone else or is it some sort of health problem

How old are you - not to be rude, 10-15 minutes sounds like you have a dodgy bike/seat/something else going on to be honest with you

I've been riding sport bikes for the last 4-5 years and have only just recently [do about 10 000 miles a year] started getting 'health problems' associated with it - have RSI in one finger on my clutch hand which is becoming a regular problem, and my right knee is playing up quite often on longer rides. Also am suffering from an itchy scalp from so many hours in the helmet.

All this at 23 ..... Slightly worrying really

Yes its normal on a sportsbike. Expect neck and wrists also to hurt. Gets better at speed when you can lean on the wind blast.

It's positioning on the bike.

It sounds as though you may be doing one of two things:

Sat too far back, stretching over the bike is giving you a bad back and putting pressure on your 'bits' and they're also getting bumped by any bumps in the road.

sat too far forwards but not holding yourself on the bike.

I sit with my knees gripping the tank and my feet firmly on the foot pegs and sitting up, my arms give some support, but if I wanted to take my hands off the bars and wave them around a bit my body position wouldn't change and wouldn't be a strain to maintain.

I have a bit of space between my 'bits' and the tank.

Sell your sportsbike and buy something more suited to you.

It sounds stupid also, but having a good stretch like you would before going to the gym before you ride can help, as you are basically doing 'hours' of physical activity to some extent if you go for a long ride, so if you don't prepare your body gets a sudden shock

Ah... There might be your problem. Are the clip on bars a very different shape/position/height to the originals. It would only take a small alteration on a sportbike for many users to have a hugeee difference in angle/pressure on various body parts
