Having said that, I do it down the ******** backroad quite regularly and nobody's done anything to me.

But it's not the same as breathing a face full of fumes directly into the copper's face and going "Nan desuka?!" And being told to go. Laughing

Well, it's not that you can't, it's that ya'll git scared of the consequences. That there are consequences.

Japland was cool in those days. Now you get fined if you're the passenger in a car in which the driver is pissed. Wtf.

2013...it's all getting very shit.

I can barely drive my car in a straight line when drunk, couldn't possibly do it on my bike.

I'm very aware that there were men in the 1940s who were beating the fuck out of Spitfires at 50ft off the deck down country lanes.

Salutay!

It's the opposite for me, anything other than a strait line and good night.

I did a lot of stupid stuff when I was younger, largely because I just didn't appreciate the consequences of my actions. Like most of us still around I got away with it and just ended up with some memorable close calls.

Everything now is socially unnacceptable, and heavily punished if you get caught.

It kind of is a shame that the younger generations aren't running the gauntlet in the same way, but I wouldn't want them doing it past my front door so.... tough.

Hetz, I think you just miss being young and totally care free in the way you only can when you're young and the world holds endless possibilities.

Welcome to the age of kitten-protecting, law-abiding citizens, enforced by daily safety tests, high-viz, abs, 360 degree body armour and a desire to live until 110.

Alternatively...

Erm, you could do the same now. Just don't get caught.

I haven't been pulled over in a year of riding. Why would I get pulled over if drunk? Unless I cracked out the ton past a police car or weaved around like a moron. In which case I'm not sure this would be a fun idea. I like having the highest consequence for my drunken behaviour being passing out under a bus shelter, not smashing into a lamppost at 120.

Eh?

0-100mph is pretty swift on the CB. 14 seconds or so. Wouldn't match a sport bike by any means but there's plenty enough to get into trouble.

Does it only count if you're doing double the speed limit? Laughing
