I've never been over 11 st in my life, even at peak fitness and on a good diet and lots of exercise when I joined the marines
I've always been skinny Laughing
as I do a lot of arm chair work these days I don't tend to get very hungry as I'm not burning calories

I also drink quite a lot of coffee (10 + cups per day) as well as a few beers and as both are diuretics I don't retain a lot of fluid

I normally don't have any breakfast apart from a few coffee's
maybe lunchtime I'll have a sandwich or a bacon roll

dinner is very hit & miss, last night I ate 4 pork chops (just on there own)
where a couple of nights ago I had a QP burger on its own
I do "Snack" at night with some crisps or the odd mars bar

I tried the bulking shakes you get from health food shops before
but all that did was make me eat less
as they were 2000 calories a pint if I can remember correctly

don't get me wrong I don't want to put on a massive beer gut
I just want to put about a half a stone, as over the last year I've gradually dropped to just under 10 st from 10 1/2

don't tell me to eat lots of junk or fatty food that doesn't work for me
when I was living alone I fried everything I ate or lived off chinese and fish & chips
and lost weight in the process

any tips on decent ways to put on a few Lbs

I'm a morbidly obese person and fuck knows how that happened. Crying or Very sad

It may have been the pies, or chocolate or my arse hole is smaller than my gob.

That's why gays are mainly skinny.

Do some physical exercise. Come back from.... say a decent bicycle ride and then eat a meat n 3 veg type of meal, load the spuds then follow with a pud.
Eat something in the morning. Cereals, if you can find one you like. Banana...anything !
Each time you make a brew have a glass of water before it.

Get physical and eat.

[edit] ...and if you don't like the idea of a crappy ride in crappy weather..on your own etc . I have the solution to all your problems.

Hens.

They produce protein daily, and when they get too old to lay you can eat them..Cut them some slack during winter as they won't lay everyday when there isn't much sunlight(why Battery Hens are always in Summertime conditions.. Thinking )
They'll need a fenced-off area so you'll be doing some digging, and whilst you've got the spade out get some veggies planted. Any green waste supplements the corn you feed to the Chucks.

Egg on toast for brekkie...splash on what yer fancy...bit of gardening. It's what built Britain. Smile

Eat more, then more ontop. Then eat some more.

May be worth looking at some bulk powders, never used them myself but they may help?

just eating more isn't possible
I eat till I'm full then I have to stop, as to exercise well hauling a 15k PA rig about on average once a week
is a big workout and equivalent to a couple of hours in the Gym
I also walk any journey under a mile or two
and walk a mile or so each day just for the walk and fresh air

I did google but it threw up loads of crap much like dieting every one has there own view

I'm more looking for info on foods groups that I can target even if they are unhealthy
as this will be short term, and as I said the "Bulker protein drinks" didn't work
as they need to be used with a lot of gym / exercise that I do not have time to do
and its not about muscle development, I may be skinny but what I do have is muscle
I throw speakers about easier than my mate and he's 13 st and pretty fit

just need to stop the loss and gain a few pounds before I need to punch a new whole in my belt
at a 28 waist if I go any lower I'll be shopping in the teen section for trousers

.....except its not, working out for muscle mass you'd be training at least 3, more like 4-5 days a week for at least an hour, rather than carrying a speaker once a week.

Just sounds like you want a quick fix, and are already poo pooing what you know are the answers you are going to get. There isnt a quick fix since it seems you have a naturally high metabolism.

Theres no way you were getting 2000 calories in a single protein drink, they are more like 400 per serving on average.

You need to start serious calorie counting.

Write down everything you eat and look up the calories for that. Weight things if need be. A food diary will help you see where the issue is. I'll jump out on a limb and say that you simply arent consuming as many calories as you think.

Once you have worked this out, or even before consider eating lots of carbohydrates later in the evening (still 2-3 hours before bed but after dinner). Potentially make a big meal from it then consume the other half as an addition to breakfast. Eat bulking foods (pastas, rice, potatoes, veg, fruits). Dont consume anymore protein via powders or extra meat as it will unlikely be necessary.

15kg is not a workout unless you are doing something stupid with it, like swinging it over you head Laughing

10x that weight, plus lot of food = weight gain.

If you start counting all your calories you will probably find out you are under what you should be getting. Increasing your daily calories won't necessarily make you fat, you probably have quite low fat percentage now, so an extra bit won't hurt. You probably could up your calories to 3000 a day without much problem, I don't think you'd put it all on your belly!

Stuff yourself with carbs, loads of carbs.

Don't even think of riding a fuel injected bike - get one of those with carbs too Smile

my amp rig's are more than 60 KG per side
in total my pa is 7.6 tonne of gear including the back line
I doubt most body builders lift that in a week of training and its not on a bar
its 180 lbs of bass bins with 6 per side never mind the top ends
that get lifted onto the bass bins
and all done manually and we carry well over a tonne of cables to connect it all together

loading and unloading, setting up then stripping down and unloading to the lock up means we shift 7.5 tonne of gear 4 times in an 8 hour shift
and have to do a 3 hr gig in between, its a marathon at best
and a workout at least

I've not really got any advice on how to gain weight, but I managed from about the age of 15-16 until I was 27 and stayed around the 10 stone mark.... now in the last 12 years I've managed to put on about 1-2 stone, at the moment I'm probably about 11 1/2 stone heaviest I've been in the last 12 years is 12 and the lightest has been 10.8 (ish)

There's been a couple of times I've gone off food for about a week, and noticed my weight didn't change at all, other times I've ate like a pig and not gained a single pound

Get a desk job. Perhaps one where you can't leave the desk, like in the transportation industry.

Eat when you're bored.

Everyone is naturally different. I've learned this since I started doing indoor climbing.

There is no 'best size' for climbing, and as you get better, you don't necessarily bulk up. Out of the regulars who I see there, some are lanky as feck, others are built like tanks, even though they all do the same amount of climbing and are just as good as each other.

I worked in a convention centre and the primary part of my job was lugging very large amounts of furniture around, so it was similar in style to you shifting the PA gear, apart from I did it on an almost daily basis. There was a tech crew at this place as well, so I know the kind of work you do. The tech guys I worked with were all sorts of shapes and sizes - big, small, overweight, scrawny, etc. I was in good shape but still quite scrawny compared to a lot of guys. Aside from pumping iron at the gym (which I generally detest), I had no way of further increasing my body mass. Your job sounds graft enough to have you in shape, so by the sounds of things your current size is probably just down to nature. Must say your diet doesn't sound too great though.

Your body is limited to the way your genes intended it to be. So, unless you're still in puberty Thinking there's not much you can do in my opinion. Unless you just want to get fat. In which case, eat lots of potato-based food. But then you'll just have a version of a beer gut.

Some guys are just more skinny than others, same as how other guys are fat but not gluttons.

Thumbs Up

7.6 tonne is not much at all. I do press ups when I'm in the mood. Normally about 100 3x a week which works out to:

100 * 42kg * 3 = 12,600kg

The 42kg is half my weight which is a good rough estimate of the weight being lifted during a single press up.

I'm not bulky at all and 12.6 tonnes a week is simple. Even a fairly beginner body builder will be looking to lift 100kg minimum per rep and although they do few reps they also exercise lots of muscles individually.

As for your initial question... sugar is the answer - it's a horrible substance that makes you crave more food and gives you a massive over-abundance of energy which can be stored quite easily. Drink coca-cola instead of coffee and have a couple of mars bars a day between meals and you'll soon be a fatty. It'll even increase your appetite.

I thought about that but I really don't like coca-cola, though most people I know that drink it
tend to be a bit over weight, so I may have to force myself to drink it Thumbs Up

I went from 11 stone to 13.5 in about 4 months. I had been 11 stone since I was 17... I'm 24 now.

This was my diet.

https://super-user.co.uk/pizzaa.jpg

This was my exercise.

https://cdn.idealo.com/folder/Product/2361/3/2361382/s3_produktbild_gross/sony-playstation-3-ps3-slim-320gb.png

If it isn't working, your pizzas are too small.

Junk food never used to affect me. I just got bigger meals.

Typical day used to be last nights 4 remaining slices, 4 slices of toast and can of energy drink for breakfast.

Lunch was either KFC or McDonalds.

Dinner was pizza.

Repeat until Skudd/really ill.
