Hi all I'm having an issue with my 125cc. The bike has done 2070 miles so far and I have come across an issue where I accelerate through the gears to 4th and it just starts slowing down around 35mph, even when I go back down the gears, any ideas sorry if this kind of thing has been posted before I wouldn't even know where to start to look, thanks all for any input.

Should be able to stay in 3rd until about 45mph. Would definitely try revving it high through the gears, 125s are made to be thrashed Laughing

That ain't right. Sound lke your fuelling is stuffed.

Since it's a newish bike, that'd be straight down the dealer and find out whether the warranty is worth the paper it's probably not written on.

If he sets the dog on you, then do a plug chop and see what your spark plug is telling you.

If it's still faltering even when you've knocked it down the gears then it's the bike, not you.

While I'm thinking, how many times have you changed the oil, and when's the last time you checked it?

The oil has only been changed at 1st service 500 miles - next 3000miles, I asked around at work and was told to change gear around 9000-10000 revs I tried it on the way home and past 8000 revs its screaming, I would hate to hear it redline, I change between 6000-7000 I don't know whether that could be an issue. Thank you.

It NEEDS thashing to get going, I had a YBR125 and did 11k miles on it and every single one of those was done knocking on the redline.

Changing at 6k rpm on that bike is changing way before the power comes in (what power there is Razz ) so you NEED to change at high revs to get it up to speed. If the red line starts at 12k rpm, change at 11

Sorry 1000-10000 in white 10000-12000 is red I can't get past 9000 revs sounds like its going to blow up, acceleration is fine apart from the two occasions of it bogging down. I don't want to damaging the bike.

I'll ask again: have you checked the oil level.

2500 miles is a lot for a Chinese branded 125 to go between changes. It's a lot for a CBF125, some of them don't make it.

Really? I'm usually at top gear when I hit 30, I shift up every time I hit 4K RPM...should I not be doing this?

If I put the Varadero in 5th at 30mph, it will bog and feel shit.

3rd is the highest gear for 30mph for me. 3rd takes me to 55mph, 4th takes me to 65mph, and 5th continues on to its top speed and it sits at the edge of the redline..

It is not dead yet and has over 70,000 more miles than your bike Thumbs Up Change your oil every 1000 miles if you wants to actually make progress and rev it.

It will sound like it wants to blow up, its a bike with 1 tiny piston and a few tiny valves. They make noise.

Not sure if serious, around town I can imagine this as you'd not need to go over 30, but to actually get going? that's downright dangerous!
