1997 R reg Honda CBR900RR Fireblade 918
Totally 100% original and mint. Only addition is an ART race can. Dyno print for 118bhp at the rear wheel so quite a healthy bike.

Never ridden one, so have no idea what I am in for. Apparantly quite twitchy with the 16" front wheel so something I will have to adjust to. Hence Saturday (and Sunday) I will be riding like miss daisy.
There is so much history with my bike, excellent to see it so well maintained.
Looking forward to getting it on Friday.
Just got to sell my fzr600 now as I don't have the garage room and I need to recoup some readies!!
Hopefully I will get on with it as I have done a bit of research on the 918 and there is a lot of praise for the bike. ____________________ Yamaha TZR250 - love the smell of TTS!!!!

I hated these things when they were new but these days they make a lot of sense as a road bike. Still fast enough to put you in prison or on the mortician's slab if you desire, but reliable and comfortable devices. Not as pretty or as mental as the Mk1 but better value for money these days. Yours looks do of avoided any nasty customising by retards, keep it that way ____________________ 18:54:48 Rob Fzs: jews don't give away stuff for free

how many miles?
Looks quite clean, nice one!
Things to point out that i've noticed from mine:
Reg/rec went. change it for an R1 one, not hard to do and a lot more reliable.
CCT, hondas have always been bad for them
watch for a dodgy 2nd gear too!
Awesome bikes though, insanely fast |

If the Fireblade handles the same as a Hornet with a 16" front, then the whole '16" front wheel is twitchy' thing is a load of crap. I've had the 16" and 17" front on a Hornet and they handle the same, you just get more tyre choice with the 17. It was worked out on here the 16" front hardly drops the bike at all compared to the 17" because of the higher tyre profile.
Nice bike |

Cracking bike mate
I beleive the cb500 reg/recs can be used and is worth buying one from ebay to chuck under the seat in case it pops. They are about 25.30 quid on ebay.
Much kudos for keeping it as original as possible

Thanks for the advice guys.
The reg/rec thing is a bit of a weakness isn't it . That said, this bike has so much paperwork that I have yet to go through as I don't get it until tomorrow that I am hoping this has been replaced with something more durable than the original cheese made one.
Looking forward to seeing what this bike is all about .
Those crap pictures do not do it justice, it is utterly immaculate. ____________________ Yamaha TZR250 - love the smell of TTS!!!!

I have the 97 RRV too. RegRec went 3 years ago, got a replacement off eBay and have been fine since. Only 'failure' I have had was the live wire for the headlights getting worn where it passes through a small tube behind the clocks and began arcing and blowing the fuse.
Enjoy. Very easy to ride but will remind you from time to time that it will bite your backside when you get complacent. ____________________ My fingers smell of your mum. |

And here it is:
https://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j303/330paul/blade/all-together-bikes_zps6a647471.jpg
Got back, went to the bank to get some money to then meet my mate in Canterbury and it started hammering it down so I turned round and had to spend 20 minutes clearing a space in the garage.
I now officially cannot move in there so the FZR HAS TO GO!!!
So, initial impressions. I need to move the rear brake lever up a little to suit me and roll the indicator pod round a bit as the switches are just a little too far down to make it second nature. I have to look to the switch so that needs sorting.
So performance.......................................
OH MY FOOKING GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has clearly been fettled. The throttle is so quick acting. I sneezed (hayfever) and my hand slipped the throttle round in second gear and the bike went crazy :rolllaff: .
The turn in and response is so TZR like it is unreal. It looks big but it hides the size well in its riding manners and feels quite light. The brakes are very sharp but I know this will not be something I get used to very fast handling wise. Nice gearbox as well. This weekend will be all about learning what a proper old school fireblade is all about. I have much to learn. ____________________ Yamaha TZR250 - love the smell of TTS!!!!

Its all good now, the FZR went 30 minutes ago so the blade is sitting in the middle of the garage with a healthy space around it
I might not have a big red tool chest but I am a happy owner ____________________ Yamaha TZR250 - love the smell of TTS!!!!
