Quote:
Britain's Scott Redding is weighing up options to enter MotoGP next season but is cautious as he wants to hit the ground running when he makes the step up in 2014. Redding is remaining tight-lipped over exactly what he is weighing up but he is believes to have an option to join Ducati in a satellite team, a option for his whole MarcVDS team to take over the Pramac deal and an option to ride one of Honda's production racers under the MarcVDS livery. He may also be offered a seat next to Michael Laverty in the PBM team. "It's difficult to say at the moment, but I just need to make the right choice and I need to make the right start in MotoGP. They are good options in different ways. That's all I can really say, the options I have got aren't bad, so we need to wait and see what happens," said Redding, speaking at Assen.

Well I say it's a no brainer, race with a Honda production bike. Your thoughts?

Only one realistic solution! Ditch Bradley and lets see Scott & Cal on the Tech 3! Now that would be a team. I think it will kill him if he goes to Ducati and the Honda is probably a little too small for him!

Why do so many riders get tempted by Ducati just to get a MotoGP ride when it has destroyed so many careers

Thumbs Up Agreed! Theirs only been one person to " Tame " it, and he was an amazing rider! And rode it with all the electronics off. I personally think it will be a big mistake if he goes to Pramac. I can however see him on a Yamaha!

Are you kidding? No pneumatic head, no seamless shift; he'd be racing for 10th at best and beaten by the ARTs. No doubt the Honda engine man would turn the beans down if he ever got too close to the Satellites.

The best option is for Marc VDS to buy out/and or go into partnership with LCR and run two bikes. There has been talk of this already. If not, bin Bradley on a performance clause and get Scott in.

The same reason drivers went to Ferrari in the 90s, when they couldn't win a coin toss.

Ducati/Ferrari, the names are evocative and the pay isn't bad either.

Only reason people go to Ducati these days is the pay check that goes with it.

No chance in hell you can win on one.

Stoner won when the rules changed and they went to 800cc, Ducati had a massive edge on speed.

Even Stoner struggled on the thing when the other manufactures caught up in later seasons, and thats pretty much the only rider who could ride it.

I read the tweet. It was in response to, if memory serves, Bennetts suggesting he may sign for Ducati before the 'Ring'.

His response, from memory, was something along the lines of 'I could sign in an hour, a week, a month or next year'.

I read that to mean the deal is real but he's not necessarily signing before the Sachsenring.

I can't see anything that could be construed as a denial on his twitter feed at all. But then I haven't checked it since this morning.

Can anyone else shed any light on this?

Ah. Nice one!

Thanks Wave.

But...... do we really dismiss the paddock chatter? Although not always accurate there is usually a bit of truth to the rumours. I'm still convinced that Ducati have offered him a deal too good to turn down. A deal that will likely damage his career though in my opinion.

@bennets_bike go away! Your sources are wrong! Could be done today , tomorrow , or next year , or 10 years !

So yeah, it's not specifically saying he isn't going to - but it's more like he's telling bennetts to STFU rather than leak precious details about where or where he might like to work in the future.

Silly season appears to be with those that read Hello! magazine already. I personally advise people to care less about it and more about the racing. Thumbs Up

Redding to ride a Yamaha Engine in an FTR or similar frame with Marc VDS. Thumbs Up

Yamaha are leasing crossplane motors next year.

Looks like it could be a production Honda for 2014, moving to a factory Honda in 2015 with Gresini.

So he's going to be a Nissin/Showa test mule for a year then, on a bike with conventional valves and no seamless box.
