It's entirely probable that it's the gap between the rocker arm and the valve stem. If so, it's nothing to worry about. I did the clearances on a CG125 according to what Haynes said, and the clicking was really loud. Confused

Its an old pushrod engine, let it make all the noise it wants to. Change the oil regularly and leave all other maintenance until it stops.

I thought all CG engines were chain driven OHC engines like the GS. Even so the advice above still applies. Its almost certainly rocker or tappet noise. You should hear the tappet noise that comes from a pushrod norton engine!! Then you would stop worrying. Laughing

If it is a pushrod engine, just ignore the noise. If its a OHC chain thing make sure the chain tensioner is working then ignore it.

They are pushrod engines, set up according to Haynes, the noise is terrible. It's little wonder it was set up tight when we got it.

Im quite surprise at that. Anyway that actually makes it better as far as the noise is concerned. It can be made better as people have mentioned, by tightening up the clearances.

ill just leave it anyway,
oh and i think that its the CB125 twin that is an OHC engine.
