Brothering law has just been knocked off his bike in plymouth by a driver from latvia. He is a little sore but he is ok which is good. Bike a little damaged such as bent forks etc.

now for the good bit, they have got what details they could as the driver was playing on the whole i cant speak english etc. But MCN insurance have advised that we are not insured against any foreigners that hit us unless they have UK insurance, because we cannot claim against a foreign insurance company

can anyone point us into the right direction or offer any words of wisdom please?

They're talking out their arse if you ask me. Got the Old Bill involved, as they either have insurance, or are driving without it.

Agreed. It is a legal requirement to have insurance when driving in this country, wether they are from this country or not.

just found out that when the police were called they would not attend because the details were being passed between each other, even though the guy couldnt talk english...
they are on the way to the police station now to put a complaint in about it, but MK1gsf you have made a bloody good point so just made sure they bring that up when they get to the cop shop

Was anyone injured to the point an ambulance was called? The police generally dont attend if no one was injured. This may be why they werent interested.

no ambulance was needed lady Phoenix. just a bit a bad wrist and neck. the bike took the force, he didnt even go over the handel bars as he nearly managed to stop in time.

Unless he is dieing he wouldnt call an ambulance unfortunatly

I would therefore suggest thats why the police didnt want to attend.

If the other party is at fault then it's got nowt to do with your insurer anyway unless you're fully comp.

Call a motorcycle claims management outfit.
