That explains why my carbs were bunged up. Had to blow hard to get them working.

It is indeed, the parts are starting to come together and I am collecting a Norton gearbox with a Triumph clutch on Sunday. When I actually start the build I will start a thread in S&T. I would like to fit a blower but they are hard to come by so I am toying with NO2 as a cheaper option.

I'll be looking forward to your thread.

I've long held the belief that there's a lot of BS talked about speedway motors, largely to keep the punters thinking that tuners are practitioners of some arcane black art.

I'm interested to see how an outsider deals with what must be one of the simplest motors around.

Very simple there is a needle and main jet and a flat slide located in a venturi tube. We sprinters treat a throttle as an on/off switch, at full bore this will just pour methanol into the motor. Getting fuel to an engine is simple to problem is getting oxygen there to burn it hence my desire to either supercharge or NO2 inject it, that carb is not made for subtlety.
