After being on the end of a bad puncture today, i need to get a new rear and im willing to fit this myself.

My question is, what valve do i use as i would like to replace the old ones.

Not sure if motorcycle valves are universal as i just keep getting bamboozled with numbers and codes when i shop for valves. The Haynes manual tells me jack shit on this.

Cheers Bluezedd, i was just confused with which type of valve of to get, too many different codes and numbers and google didn't help one bit in my search Rolling Eyes

No bother. Have a look at the prices on ebay for them and consider buying in bulk if it's a few quid. I bought 50 valves for somewhere around a tenner. The challenge is to try and last longer than the bag of valves, although with helping pals fit tyres, I don't think that'll be too long.

Cut the old valve stem off with a stanley blade and push the remaining rubber bung out the other side of the rim with a philips screwdriver.

I use one of these to pull the new valve through. I think the bit i use is actually for repairing a damaged outer thread but it works perfect and you can get them for around £1 from ebay.

With your valve answer i have just purchased 2x tyres, 12x valves, 3x rim protectors.
Will get that tool puller tool from a local auto shop.

Changed the rear a few months ago and now im changing the front.

The sun is trying to kill me and its taken 30 minutes to get the tyre off, surprising as they are skinny 125 tyres.

In future i think im just going to cut the effing thing off and save a lot of hassle and sweat.
