Thinking of getting one of these in the next few days as my lid is near end of life. Any one out there got one and what their views on it?

Thanks

Check out my request for info- https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=268086&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Bought one from helmets direct a month ago- nice quality, really like the sun visor and wide vision.

Helmet is a bit noisier than I thought it would be (compared to my cheap HJC- not much difference).

Ventilation really good, pin lock brilliant.

The chin curtain allows cold air in good in summer, but cold in the spring mornings.

Overall a very nice helmet.

The missus ordered one off Lids Direct and really wanted it as it was a cracking lid.

However, they are slightly different shapes to a "standard Shoei" and it put pressure on her forehead causing a headache after 10 mins. Going up a size and messing about with the different sized liner parts didn't help. It was like the helmet was shorter front to back that it should have been.

She therefore swapped it for a Shoei XR1100 which fits her perfectly and she seems over the moon with. Only drawback was the lack of sun visor but she'll get used to it.

I have this problem with some helmets, and I was talking to the Shoei rep on their stand at the NEC last Dec, he said that you can apply pressure with your thumbs to the front padding on the forehead and deform it enough to ease the pressure. Not tried it but may help anyones who finds this a problem.

My AGV did that but after use had squished the polystyrene in over a couple of weeks the pain stopped happening.
