What a site! Rolling Eyes
I wouldn't be surprised if the video on the front page triggered a few epileptic fits. IMHO really shoddy in an attempt to be trendy.

On topic, no I will not be there.

That actually looks fun! Although I'm scared of crawling through small spaces! I'm sure I read about someone who died on a course like this though, they drowned in one of the water obstacles Confused

I'm quite capable of going and being miserable in the woods near my house - rather than going to the lake district to pay to be shouted at to achieve the same outcome. Laughing

I don't like these training camp things. The only way to train is to train consistently over a period of months, not just spend a couple of days cold, wet and in pain. It won't help and is likely just to end up with you being injured.

Just exercise three times a week, start with gentle warm ups and stretching and then move on to sit ups, press ups, pull ups, etc.

Sounds easy doesn't it? Wink

I've often wondered about doing ' homeless' holidays , so people can scruff it for a week.

Would be very enlightening to most , and cheap ,

Very challenging on many levels , not just physical .

I can already shout at strangers and the pavement also it doesn't take much for me to piss in my own pants.
So does that mean that I`m already on holiday Confused Smile

Agree with this for general fitness (its what I do). This is about the challenge, pretty tough obstacles on this course and its a team work event.

Injury's . . . . I'm on hand to see to that Smile

I got some smurf plasters and some TCP.

It's not a training camp?
It's generally specifically what people train three times a week to be able to achieve.

I want to do one sometime as it makes a 10/15k run a bit more 'interesting' and I like jumping over stuff, etc Smile.

The one linked says 10k and 38 obstacles; some only offer 10k/10 obstacles, but others have a bit more - though I can't find details this second, actually.

I fancy the 'Challenge cross' format, which for the easier one is:
50km

Challenge 1. 10km Dartmoor trail run

Challenge 2. 25km MTB over Dartmoor

Challenge 3. 15km Commando Endurance Course

But it's a fair bit of cash and not near me, I don't think.
100k has double the distance run and more than double cycle.

I find these things too easy.

I realise theyre a race and therefore there will be people who go a lot quicker than me, but I want a race that very few people finish/struggle to.

Ultramarathons/cycles are much more challenging. Anything which is difficult multiplied by massive distance is much more of a challenge. Too many people who are merely 'fit' are capable of doing these things.

Surely long distance running/cycling is very much the same - you can choose how quickly you go and do the whole thing at a 'comfortable' pace and few people are likely to drop out.

Certainly see people in the local running club a fair bit 'less good' at doing 10-16k than me who do ultras. If I run at their kind of pace as they do normally, I could probably do an ultra ok (presuming no injuries etc).
Definitely for cycling; at the right pace I can go on all day. Finishing is just a case of adjusting pace.
For running I'm not so good at judging pace, but certainly reckon I could keep going for ever at a gentle enough pace.

Mrs Silky did the Jurassic Coast Challenge a while back.

Thats 3 marathons in 3 days over muddy fields and hills and stuff.

She was sooo excited about it.
Kinda like this:

I then went to pick her up on the final day.
And she was like this: Not laughed so much in years.

She didnt find my encouraging words of "you stupid muppet" helpful

The best time to get the insults in, when you know they can't fight back Smile

Unbelievable thing to do, 3 marathons in 3 days. Still not as impressive as throwing yourself off a hillside, did you ever actually do it? Are there any photo's for proof?
