Do you have TPFT?

If you get it back, I suggest getting one of thoise blacklight pens, and wiriting your postcode on the frame and maybe also the engine.

The only thing stopping me from doing that is that the pen costs more than my bike Mr. Green

Mine was a few years ago, but the advice I've always heard is to reject their first two offers and accept the third one.
You'll never get the full value back but be patient and don't take their first offer as they know you'll want the cash asap so will offer you silly money to start with.
Good luck!

yeah its tpft..weird thing is, on friday night i saw a chav-esque character walking past staring up into my garage, and I saw the same one hanging about saturday night, then last night about 11pm the dog went absolutely mad, which she generally does when someone comes in or leaves the house (that creature has a sixth bloody sense)

So I reckon that chav guy came twice in a row, decided he wanted it, and stole it last night...

I'd love to have caught him doing it, although then of course the only thing I'd be allowed to do by law is ask him (politely) if he could please return my bike Evil or Very Mad

Bleh, you're allowed to use 'reasonable force', just stay away from the shotguns.

If I caught someone stealing my bike I sure wouldn't ask them to return it politely. But then my title isn't anal intruder Wink

Post where abouts it was taken, colour, registration, etc any details.

Hope ya get it back, and if ya don't hope the insurance co don't take the piss.

Gaz

Awwww, sorry to hear that rooroo SadSadSadSadSad

Horrible to ehar when some scumbag has walked off with your pride and joy, something which you have worked hard for. If it is a chav and he's been round a few times, then keep an eye out locally. Put the word around.

Because, chances are it'll be sitting in a shed somewhere. The little sh*te...

Good luck mate, phone the insurance company IMMEDIATELY with the police investigation number type thing and the policeman/womans name.

Anything "not usual" you should always investigate.
If you had gone outside to your garage while chav bloke was there he would have known you were watching.
That being said they will always get it no matter what.
When my KR1S got stolen I was dead lucky a copper was driving by in a plain car and apprehended the scum, so I got my bike back.
They actually sneaked into my work right up to my bike in front of a window and then waited for us to go on tea break Evil or Very Mad
Where do you live? So we can all keep an eye out.

In my experience, smaller motorbikes usually turn up again after a short while.

It may not be in the condition you left it though. Good luck.

Sorry to hear it. Out of interest, other than the bike being in your garage, what security did it have?

My NSR was dumped around the corner. Stupid f*ckers couldn't start it. Didn't put the choke on, or the fuel tap. And I use the kill switch as a immobiliser. Oh and they used the wrong wires to hot wire it Rolling Eyes Have you checked local fields / beach etc? Insurance won't process your claim for a month incase it turns up.

Also I think turning down the first insurance offer is for personal injury compo not a payout Thumbs Up

Hopefully it'll turn up soon Thumbs Up

More info on the bike..

It had done 5500ish miles, was a blue 2001 CG, it was in my garage with the door shut but not locked due to no padlock at the time (the insurance will not be told that..I told them the thieves also took the padlock.

To be honest didnt expect to have to lock it as im in a very quiet area and my garage is at the end of a long driveway...which is right between mine and my neighbours house, a fair distance from the road..
It was in mint condition except for a broken rear reflector, had just MOT'd it a few days ago Sad now I have nothing to finish my lessons and take my test on.

I expect the reason they'd want to steal a CG is either to take it in a field and ride it, or to take it apart for breakers?

And on a more weird note, I'd grown pretty fond of it, having done many miles for fun, and just commuting....I hate the idea of it being demolished by some thieves Sad

Yer, best bet would be to work out your petrol, a figure out how far they could go on it (dont forget to factor in that they would probably be bricking it, and using up petrol quicker). Once you have a rough distance, measure that on your map, and you have an area to search in. Of course, this is going on a few "supposes":

They didnt take it in a van
They didnt refill it
They didnt throw it in a river/pond/burn it
They didnt break it down for parts

Hope all goes well.

Yes but CG's will do about 10 miles just on the vapour in the tank! Laughing

Hope you get it back RooRoo!
