Just had a fairly eventful trip home, activate brool story mode.

Just finished the night shift, on the way home roads im familiar with. A car follows me off a roundabout, right up my arse, being the early hours of saturday morning i assume its some tosser coming back from town, so i put some space between me and him. I sit at 80, speed limit is 60, 2 minutes down the road with the car still probably 10-15 meters behind me, unmarked car puts his blues on and pulls me over.

Fuck i thought, here we go. All my experience with the 5-0 so far have been shite, so i wasnt expecting great things but the copper was actually quite sound, gave me a lecture about having to be careful about animals running into the road at this time in the morning, but lets me off a ticket. Well chuffed, and a little shit up by the experience (never been pulled before) i set off, taking it pretty easy.

5 minutes down the road, a frigging badger runs out in front of me, i have no time to react apart from gripping the bars and clenching my arsehole. The good old ZZR steamrolled that fucker, had a mini tankslapper, but nothing major. I think had i been doing the speed i would normally been doing if i hadnt had the lecture, instead of around 60, id have been off. Someone up there is looking out for me!

/brool story mode

PS, suprise suprise, the copper was a biker, rides a Translap

If you were doing 80 you'd have whizzed past the badger and it would have crossed the road behind you. Speeding saves lives you know.

Also I wouldn't dare ride the bike on country roads back from work in the early morning on a regular basis. I commute in the car and come home at anywhere from 3am to 7am, a 15 minute commute about 4 days/week and in a year I've killed about 5 rabbits, 2 wood pigeons, a sparrow, and a deer. And I hit the deer at 50, if I was on the bike I'd be fucked. Then there's all the deer that I've had to slam on for and just missed. Saw a stag the other day the size of a horse. Imagine that going through your windscreen. God I hate those things.

Had a pheasant come through the windscreen of my bus on a NSL once. Not one bit pleasant.

Hit a Doberman at slow speed many years ago. Went over the bars, trashed hands (no gloves!), scraped bike and dog just walked away unhurt.
Have always hated Dobermans since then (and never ridden without gloves either!.

He drove up your ass making you anxious and forcing you to break the speed limit to maintain a safe distance. He was a twat and using one of the most common bully boy tactics they are known for.

I'd forgotten to ask. Do you feel threatened by the badger cull or have you been inoculated?

Bored copper wanted a chase, got it. Contemptible.

Why is it that coppers are considered to be tw4ts when they issue tickets and they're also considered to be tw4ts when they don't? Thinking

It turns out that the answer is entirely contained in the question.

Traffic coppers, I should be clear, are a special breed.

I think the point is more this......

They're considered to be twats when they force a situation where you would be liable for a ticket, but have to be contrite and play 'good little biker' to avoid said ticket. Thumbs Up

Probably didn't make it clear enough - i'm not anti tickets at all plenty of people need at least one, but in situations like the OP's the copper themself wouldn't be all that un-deserving of a ticket for that kind of driving, they should know better if they're going to do the high-and-mighty pull over routine minutes later.

I don't have any other means of transport at the moment, so its bike or nothing, but yeah, i saw countless hedgehogs and stuff in the road.

I did say to him why did you come up my arse coming off the roundabout (just before a long straight i might add), he said oh i was taking down your number plate, he said he knows that might have influenced my riding, thats why he backed off a little and followed me for 2 minutes before pulling me. He was in an unmarked audi so i dont know if he was a traffic copper or not.

He did say that my riding was good though, apart from the speed.

I've also hit a badger on the bike, no damage. It's basically like a speedbump, honest.

A while ago I was coming home from work at about 9 or 10pm and came off a roundabout onto an NSL road (single carriageway) that's safe to do 70 easily but some arsehole was right up my arse with his HID lights so I slowed down to 50-55mph all the way. At the next roundabout where it splits in to 2 lanes, surprise suprise it was a traffic copper.

They don't have to abide by the same laws are us it seems.
