Buell, either an XB12R Firebolt, or an M2 Cyclone or something. I'd probably spend the change on a two stroke of some sort.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

GSXR1000 K6 and the change would be spent on a nice exhaust, some track time and insurance.

I'd go for a GSXR 600 K6 in black.

I'd get a K2 GSXR6 or similar for a track bike.

I'd then get a XR250 or similar.

Then with the £2000 change I'd buy other stuff.

Fun... a late model KTM 200.
Commuting... an early CBR1000 ABS.

690 enduro if I didn't have one for a 'do it all' bike.

Presuming I wanted to spend it all on one bike.
Realistically, five or six bikes maybe, including a supermoto pit bike. If I didn't already have one, a trials bike.

Nice 600 Monster and enough engineering to allow me to reach the floor and therefore be able to ride it!

I'de be looking for a shitty CBX 1000 Inline 6 cylinder!!!

Then start a charity fund raiser to restore to original spec..

Then just ride out to every bike meet ever and boast about the pHower1!"£$"

Or, more realistic thinking, just buy a mint aprilla RS250 and use the rest to keep it running for a few years.. that would be fun.

Early 600RR trackbike, older blade roadbike.

Or what I actually did which was to buy a Daytona for 4750 and the rest on crash protection and fuel.

I already have one of them, but if I didn't I'd put that on the list too. £500ish second hand, hilarious fun and cheap racing. It's really suprised me how much fun it is.

I would probably get another ER6 tbh.

For £5K you should be able just about to find one new.

I like new bikes and I like having a warranty.

Plus it will hold some value.

Cos I'm loving my Z1000 so much, but that one looks just a little bit more boss than mine.

A fairly recent Triumph Daytona 675 or a CBR600RR.

600 monster without the seat on is tiny. Tiny tiny.

Unless you're under 5ft I don't think it would take much engineering.

I know someone who has one of those in his garage. It was running til he took it off the road to do a rebuild/refurb on it, that was *counts on fingers* at least 12 years ago now I reckon!

As far as I know, all the original bits are still there.

If he would part with it I reckon you'd have a LOT of change left over from your £5k....... Wink

I am just over 5ft and have a 26" inside leg Sad

Have sat on several, including a couple that were allegedly factory-lowered, and my feet were hanging in the breeze in all cases. Bah.

I was, and I got a BMW F650GS. I believe I'm now obliged to wear a coal scuttle lid and take pot shots at passing Triumph Tigers.

Nah, that's the 800... 650 twin owners just lean their arm over the 650 badge and hope no one notices Razz .
