Well I was feeling all self important so I had my dad take a couple of shots of me on the NSR Smile. Photo's (well one of them) came out great, only problem is, looking at it: I dwarf that bike!

When I look at photos of people sat on other bikes, then look at the photo of me sat on the NSR, It looks like comparing an elephant to a whippet - the NSR's so skinny! Laughing .

Oh well another reason to get something bigger - in more than engine size.

For your interest and my vanity, the photo is enclosed Very Happy

My mate was 6"2 and rode an NSR - maybe if you crouch a little, everything will fall into proportion Andy. Least you aint on a CBR125 for that matter. I guess you mite as well get a bigger bike if you feel ur up for it then.

I would say that you look o.k on the NSR, but what's more important is how the bike feels to you.

Does it feel to small and cramped (I'm talking riding position here, not engine size)?

Does it make you uncomfortable when riding for more than 5 minutes?

I have both a ZXR400 and a ZX7R and I can't ride the 400 for more than about 30 minutes without getting cramp and have to have the balls of my feet on the pegs because otherwise I am touching the exhaust, but then I am also 6'2'' and the 400 isn't really for me, it's for my better half. Wink

BTW I don't think I have ever seen a rider fully kitted up riding an NSR before - I'm glad someone values their skin! Thumbs Up

Thankie Smile.

I noticed a local ped boi riding round on his 125 ped, in the same clothes I generally sit around with mates in. If he came off he'd wreck more than his £35 reebok trackies Shocked .

Looking at the photo, for the first time I suspected that me in all my kit might look like a tiny bit of overkill, buuut, a crash at full whack on an NSR will still hurt like hell, God knows what state i'd be in without my kit. My leathers already saved me from gravel rash down the back of my leg + arse, and my old boots (not the new sparkly ones you see there) heroically sacrificed themselves protecting my ankles in my most recent crash Laughing .

So, overkill or not, I think I'll stick to wearing my kit Very Happy.

As for size, I can ride the NSR pretty comfortably, but I wouldn't say it's roomy - mind you, what sportsbike is?
I spent a while trying out the seating position on an '03 R6, and going back the the NSR made me very uncomfortable indeed Confused Laughing .

Sitting beside an NSR, I reckoned my AR looked tiny, made the NSR look like a 400. Sitting beside a CBR125 I reckoned it was just a bit bigger.

Nope - you don't dwarf it. Not at all. Kinda cool picture actually Thumbs Up

But any bike less than 600cc will feel small when you go and see others. When I first got my cruiser 125, I thought it was feckin huge, I was scared I couldn't control the thing.

Then I got my 500, and that was exactly the same.

But looking at bikes likes the rsv-r and ducati's, damni, they look near impossible to ride since they're so big.

P.S So, what you thinking of replacing the nsr with?? huh, huh? Wink

the rs125 is a good sized bike, i think the worst sized bike out of all the 125's is the honda cbr, when me and my mate go for rides, his bike looks tiny comparded to the dominace of the rs125, i've looked in shop windows as i ride by, just to see what i looked like and if anything the bike is to big.

The CBR6 is tiny! It could just be the more upright position and higher bars that mine has (it's got a narrower tank etc but wider bars too), but pulling up next to one was amusing.

If you want really big bikes, you want a big beamer. Even the F650 is quite large.

To make sure your helmet clipped up? You sure?

You don't need an excuse to look in a shop window when at the lights. Everyone does it and they think they look cool!! go on, admit it you lot!!! Laughing
