I've got a couple of long days on my bike soon, in search of better comfort when sat on the autoroutes.

Do they really make a lot of difference?

There are offcuts on ebay for £3.45 posted that would fit on.

I bought a bike once that had a rabbit pelt for a seat cover. It was bloody disgusting.

G had a sheepskin thing for his 690 Enduro. You'd want to ask him I guess.

Does make a noticable difference, I'd say.

Whether it's just psychosomatic, is another matter!

I got a big one from ikea to go right along my KTM690 seat, but haven't used it yet. Have used smaller pads which were about £11 on ebay if I remember.

I have thought about getting a sheepskin cover but the Mrs points out that surely they are super-soggy and uncomfortable in wet weather? Or do you then pack it away in a pillion box?

While riding, you're sitting on it, so the bit you're sitting on doesn't get wet.

I never got mine THAT wet anyway, but did check around before and the general answer was "water tends to run off - otherwise sheep wouldn't do very well in the wet winters!"

They certainly reduce sweaty arse syndrome and one with is at least somewhat more comfortable than one without.

They don't really get all that wet, the water just flicks off them.

A homemade roadbook holder.

Think manual GPS. It has the directions written on a big long piece of paper. You twiddle the knobs to move onto the next bit.

I have sheep skins and they are great, but they do make you feel taller in the seat.

Alright, I'll take a punt and order some offcuts. Going to look fairly ridiculous on a gsxr600, I'd imagine.

I have one of these, made my 250mile trip down to cornwall quite comfortable. It moulds to your backside and a little wriggle is all you need to relieve pressure on the move.

Of course, padded cycling shorts are also an option.

they make a sheepskin "numnah" a pad that goes between a horses saddle and its back to make it more comfortable. I have one for a small pony that I use on the bike , specially in the wet and it is very comfortable.

Oh shit! After reading through this thread again I came to this post - and realised that I ALREADY have a piece of sheepskin on my computer chair. Good. Means I can test it on the bike for no extra outlay Very Happy
