One of my SD cards seems to have given up before I could transfer a video off it.

Anyone have actual experience of a decent free utility that works?

Unfortunately it's not managed to do anything...

Did find the partition, but it appears as though there are no files recoverable. Damn shame as I know the footage was going to be good - crashes galore Sad

I'll give it one last go later and just dd the whole disk over and try to find the recording manually.

Ok,

Tried a few of these now...

recuva doesn't see the disk at all.
GetDataBack makes a valiant effort by scanning everything and then not finding anything.
Corrupted SD card recovery pro seems to do the same as get data back
data rescue (kinda by SanDisk) takes forever, I'll have to run it all day tomorrow. Seems to produce some results when I cancelled it though.

Can I suggest making a backup first using something like ddrescue then you can run the recovery programs against the image. That way you have less chance of screwing the card up and losing it forever.

I recently "lost" a stack of pictures "Undelete 360" got all but two back. This was however after a computer crash during downloading and deleting the files from a card.
