Has this happened to anyone, is this common. I parked my bike in north London in a bike bay of Black Stock Road. Between a nice triumph & s scooter, close but not touching. Came back later that same day, set of home and noticed my tank had been dented with some pole.
Are there F@@@ers out there who go about vandalizing other bikers machines?
Has this happened to anyone else here?

I'd guess it was the end of a handlebar whatdunnit. Probably not deliberate, but sucks nevertheless.

I've done exactly that to my own bike with my other bike before while trying to squeeze them in a garage together. Sad

I suppose that could be a possibility, the dent is about the right height and angle. The tank steel must be paper thin for that to happen.

That's your problem.

Sounds like it'll buff out.

Somebody knocked the bike next to your in to yours, then picked it up again?

Quite likely not the ones right next to yours.

I know it's no consolation for people that can only run 1 bike, but I would never take anything that mattered and park it in a London bike park. I always own a cheap hack.

Half the problem is the wankers who use mopeds in the smoke regard them as cheap transport and aren't bikers. They don't care what they scratch, it's just 'one of those things'

Is there a rigid tank protector pad that anyone has used that could withstand a knock. All I have seen are rubber pads.

Its a London thing! Given the draconian fine-happy parking policies and overall lack of bike parking spots for their numbers people are pushed to squeeze their bikes into whatever tiny available spot they can find - hence bikes inevitably get scratched or damaged.

Yeah, keep having stuff happening whilst I'm parking around Brighton in the line of work. Shit happens. Luckily I've now made contact with a couple of decent bike mechanics in Brighton... so all's good. Thumbs Up
