She said "I think I damaged my car more than your bike.", couldn't hear the first bit. Looks like the tyre and plate took most of the brunt to be fair.

Selfish cunt. Never mind that she could have done untold damage to his back.

The only damage was on the exhaust cap.

Yeah get the price for a new end can, doubt you'd be able to get just the cap.

What a clown, I mean how can you NOT be looking approaching a junction?

She says, "sorry mate sorry" then goes on to say "I think I damaged my car more than your bike."

I would go insurance route. Its definitely her fault.
You'll agree cash then chase her forever to get any. Or find something else bent later that the garage would have found.

Lucky she didn't shunt you out in front of an oncoming vehicle.

She shouldn't be driving.

You claim off her insurance, so no, you don't pay for anything. They come and inspect the vehicle, offer you a settlement cost etc. And you have to go on declaring this bollocks for the next five years when you want an insurance quote.

Providing you haven't sustained any injury (you haven't have you?) I'd say you're possibly doing the 'easiest path' by telling her to give you money to fix. And £200 isn't unheard of for a standard exhaust. I remember one of the bike mags did a writeup on parts costs once and a GSXR exhaust system was £2k or something silly.

However, if it was me, I'd be a total bastard about it. She'd be getting a claim and I'd want the bike inspected forensically for faults (engine mounts, rear subframe (they seem to twist a lot if you believe all you read here), wheel alignment, damage to tyre etc, etc.

And I'd do that because I'd like her insurance to relieve her of a lot of cash to remind her to open her dumb-as-shit eyes when driving a car on the road. But that's just me.

I'd go the insurance route too - you've the evidence, why not?

Think about how serious this could have been for you.

Unless she was really remorseful, etc, on which case don't be a bastard about it.

If it were me, I'd prefer the cash-in-hand, non-insurance route, but too many people are arseholes these days, you've no guarantee she won't agree to pay you then bugger off or blank you.

It sucks but I'd aways go insurance for this kinda thing nowadays.

I'd take cash if I could, even if it just meant claiming for a new cap. A non-fault claim can still make you a higher insurance risk.

My insurance doesn't seem to be affected with a fair amount of claims that were non fault.

If I was going to rim the lady, full end can and fitting, plus checking the entire frame over, just in case.
