To prevent people with sand in their vaginas from creating numerous threads, can people just chill the feck out. If you want to wear gear then wear it. If you don't then don't. Simple.

Someone not wearing gear isn't going to affect your chances in a crash so why on earth do people get so snobby about people that wear shorts?

If you do wear gear then good for you! i really don't know how you can ride in full gear as it is just far too hot!

Maybe someone should invent gear with air conditioning inside it! Laughing

Same reason cagers bitch about cyclists not wearing helmets. Think they should do because if not you'll become a statistic.

Personally, if you wanna look like you've been cheesegratered at 85mph after coming off in shorts and a thin t-shirt then be my guest. Don't expect sympathy.

Yet you've just gone and created another thread about it... Why not just add your opinion to one of the other two or three active threads.

Have i mentioned not wearing a helmet? I will always wear one as it can save my life. Gear on the other hand such as leathers/textiles will not save a life. It will prevent road rash and could even help keep a broken bone in place but it wont save your life.

No, you didn't but wearing gear on a motorbike isn't legally compulsory just like wearing a helmet on a bicycle. It won't save your life no, and if you ride like a cunt a bit of textile jacket won't stop the 40t HGV plowing through your body, but then you probably deserve it anyway if you ride like that on the public roads. On a track, feel free. Public highway - don't be a wankpanzer.

My point is is that do what you want, just don't bitch about your 100mph road rash when you come off trying to be clever in a t-shirt and flip flops. I say the same on the bicycle forum i'm on (where helmet wearing gets done to death) - do what you like, I wear one, you don't have to. I just won't sympathise that much if you crack your skull instead of cracking a 50 quid helmet you could have bought but couldn't be arsed.

Fair enough. Probably still be multiple threads though. Smile

Like that lass in the stark reminder to wear your gear thread. She could have very likely bled out at the scene due to the severity of the road rash, and had it not been for the people there keeping her awake, if she'd have lost consciousness, the same thing.

Not to mention the pyschological side of it. Living with scars that could've easily been prevented by wearing appropriate clothing can't be easy. Especially when they cover most of your body, like in her case.

I also think that no matter how confident i am/become as a rider, thinking things are going well, i'm not going to come off today, there's still other drivers to look out for.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbTZkZTYkaM

And this. Some drivers just want to kill you for simply being a rider.

I personally feel that all Chinese 125 riders should banned from the forum immediately.

Erm, fat buggers sweat more and are insulated.

If you are fat, wearing gear will make you very warm. I could wear gear if I wanted, but I'd rather not in the warm weather.

So... are you fat? Laughing

Ride naked, skid off, wear skin and fat down in 1.

Become best seller in bookstore with your "You should wear gear, but if you don't you'll lose a few pounds"

Yeah that would look really sexy - being slathered in human lard.

I could get quite into it, in an Ed Gein nipple-belts-'n'-skin-lampshades kinda way.

I am hoping that you don't know who Ed Gein is - that you have not heard of him before - and that I have now opened a new door for you to peek through. A long, fascinating avenue for you to explore. Please do not disappoint me.

Much more of this hot weather and riding in shorts business and we'll be needing a gear sub-forum.

Can barely keep up with the new threads each day.
