Just wondered about this, about every month i drive back home from dublin.
Which is basically 130km each way, i don't exactly plant the engine on the way home but i would usually have it at about 120/130kph for the most part as its straight and without turns etc.

Could i be running the engine a little hard doing this, or will bit be fine?

So long is the temp stays down, you use decent 2 stroke and service it you should be ok.
At least until the 20000 mark.....

I keep it running mostly myself, good oil, coolant always topped up.... basically it gets more attention than college.
The temp guage has never, and i mean never gone more than about 5mm past the cold level.
Due on the to do list is new chain/sprockets.... probably won't reach 20000 as i'm moving up to an nsr250... keeping the 125 cos the resale price in ireland is a joke... i'd rather have the bike to mess with as a "lets see what happens if i do this before i try it on the 250" than the tiny bit of cash i'd get for selling it.

Fairy snuff.
Sounds like youre takin care of it so you should be ok.
When you get the 250 you caould always turn the 125 into a track machine. 8)
