Has anyone heard of this DCA, they sent be a letter saying blah blah blah you owe x amount, Ring us immediately to stop further action being taken against you.

So i called them and they seemed way to friendly for a DCA offering me reduced payment amount if i payed in full, way to happy to accommodate. I felt weird saying i would pay something with a unknown company. The debt was apparently for t-mobile.

So i called t mobile and they cant find any account for me i did have and not pay one when i was young, i think i have already paid it off but not 100% sure.

Should i continue to ignore letters? And am i right in thinking that bailiffs can not come to you address unless you have defaulted on a ccj payment put in force by the court?

Get proof from T-mobile that you have no debt to them and then ignore all correspondence, surely that's the most logical way forward?

Standard tactics for any sort of debt collectors. Ignore until they take you to court. Ignore threats of being taken to court, wait for the actual summons to turn up. It won't.
Never call them. If they call you, ask who is calling and what they are calling about. Don't tell them who you are or verify your identity. They can't discuss the case over the phone without verifying who they are talking to, phone call ends.

Since you've already made the mistake of contacting them, I'd write to them and tell them that you have spoken to T-Mobile and have no outstanding debt with them, therefore you will not be entering into further discussion on the matter.

When you say "when you were young" how long ago are we talking? If it was 6 years ago you can safely tell them to fuck off anyway. Just for the love of god don't admit that you owe anything, or the clock resets.

You utter, utter plank.

Fire in a complaint to the FOS early doors. Just invent some harassment. After all, they just invented a "debt".

This. Get something in writing from T-Mobile stating that there is no debt. Then ignore any further correspondance from the fraudsters. Story ends.

Read the above thread. Send the DCA the letter the thread suggests.
Hopefully it works out for you.

Never phone anybody, even your family. If they phone you do not answer any questions they ask you.
Tonight I had a call from a person that said that they were my phone provider, they asked me to confirm my DOB, post code and house number. I told them I was not willing to do this and put the phone down. I know who I am, I do not know who they are.
Identity theft, beware.
