Seems like there are a lot of bikes on someones shopping list this Xmas.
Suggest everyone takes a little extra care in making sure their pride and joy is secure.

Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Make's me mad.

These ba5tards should have their nads hacked off, vinegar rubbed into the wound then paraded naked round the town for the public the humiliate!

Oh, then left in a pit somewhere to suffer slowly!

Think it's time to extend the house alarm system into the garage!

I know this may sound a bit radical, how about having this as a new theft detterant: Leaving the bike completely free and in the open (though with disklock on). This way, everyone on the street will see it and so no shadey garage breakins. The scum will look at it, think about it, think "hmmm...why's it out here...must be some form of super protection" and walk off

Never know, could work.

Your mates sounds like it was more of a proffesional job though.

You would have to wonder though. There is virtually no second-hand spares market for either of the two bikes. The BMW because people who buy a BMW at that sort of price take them to a BMW dealer to get fixed, plus the R1200 GS is a brand new model and still under warranty (plus BMW don't take the piss with spare parts prices).

The MZ because they are only just out of warranty now, are a minority bike and they tend not to break (well, except my one Rolling Eyes ). All the 'consuambles' such as plastics, levers etc. are off-the-shelf parts anyway.

Of course, it is perfectly possible that the miscreants are just idiots who have been watching too much of 'the long way round' and are now wondering how the hell they are going to get them to mongolia.
