Remember, it's not just porn they plan to block by default, it is anything 'Adult' (gambling, suicide, self harm, terrorism, you name it)

In fact, everything on the net, except their useful idiots at the BBC, the tax dodgers at amazon, and the hypocritical cunts at the DM.

What they want is an Internet that is basically a clearing house for official government press releases and for crony big business tax dodgers. You think they will come out a say this? Or chip away at the 'net until it's dead?

https://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/51746

Let's defend wankers everywhere.

ANYONE who thinks that this is about porn is an idiot.

It is another step towards internet censorship in its entirety.

If they have the tools to block websites quickly and easily, what is to stop them blocking more "bad stuff"?

At the moment, it seems they have to do each site individually as there have only been a handful of torrent sites blocked.

With this, a huge amount of censoring power is now in the governments hands to do with it, as it pleases.

Fuck off Cameron you complete and utter cunt.

I don't see this getting put through, I imagine the eu would step in about human rights etc.

However I have noticed google.co.uk you can not remove safe search on images so have to use google.de

I think the blocking is fantastic. Keep the stupid people off the internet, I say.

I had to giggle at the 20 odd 'block porn to save kids' petitions with 10 or so votes, and this with 25000+

Signed on the grounds that like always, this has nothing to do with what it pretends to be and more to do with what it enables the govt. to do.

Is the government trying to push through a bill?

I thought the whole point of this was that it was an 'easy win', which he didn't have to push through parliament, skipping due processes and the like.

Angryjonny in "agrees with Mondeo Man" shocker.

Signed, for what it's worth. But it's another one of those situations where I lose the right to bitch about it if I haven't at least tried to have my say.

Ignore my ignorance, but I haven't been looking into this that much. But I'm pretty sure you can simply "opt out" so all porn etc will be back? Thinking

Most internet crimes like hacking only lead to community service. Or a suspended sentence.

Only the more serious crimes get done in prison, like CP.

Not that I would suggest such a thing but some might consider a cruiser rider with a phallus as an airfilter, an Excalibur paint job and a hatred of ethnic minorities a subversive but of course no one here would say that.....

Sign it through a proxy using false details and a burner email then. You don't honestly think they go through a list of 100,000+ people then go knocking round each one's house and go 'Ere mate are you Mr K. Handler and did you sign this?'

In other news the IWF has announced that it has passed over the details of 30,000 suspected pedos to the police for the full treatment including the door smashing, arrest, interrogation, addition to "the list", and the ban from working with kids.
