I'm coming from the right, going towards the red star (my line isn't curved properly but w/e)

Anyway, it's the middle of a thunder storm, as soon as I crossed the arrow the bike went out from under me. Completely my fault, I read those get lethal when wet.

Damage to me : Small cut on my knee, bruise on my hand, ankle twisted.

Damage to bike : Bent forks & handlebars, cracked fairing, bent footrest, scratched everything. Still rode the cunt home though.

Funniest part of this whole thing? I'd just been shopping, didn't crack a single egg!

Bad luck mate.

I guess you'll take extra care going over road markings (and drain covers) from now on in the wet.

So, is your bike repairable or is it a case of selling it for parts and getting a new one?

Looks like you've had a bit of luck that nothing else hit you at a junction like that though.

GWS and I hope you've got some analgesia in at home, cause you'll be hurting a whole lot more tomorrow than you are now.

None of the injuries are anything serious, infact I think the bike will be alright too.

Just had my uncle come round and have a look at it, he said the forks/handlebars weren't bent, the front just went out of alignment. He put it all back straight now.

So overall, looks like it'll be minimal repair costs, minimal damage. Got off lucky I guess.

You do realise you were in the wrong lane to then take the far left lane at the lights, it would've meant you could have taken a gentler line around...

anyway it's good that you and the eggs are alright.

Mate that looks like one of the worst places in the country to come off..
Glad your alright and damage to the bike is minimal, looks like it could have been a lot worse, given the weather.

Thanks man, yeah I noticed afterwards.. Live and learn I guess!

For tea I had chilli, no sour cream though as it cracked and went everywhere in my tank bag, along with the yoghurts and cottage cheese! Crying or Very sad

Glad to hear you are recovering well.

How common are these off's? I'm freaked out by them and they making me reconsider whether biking is for me.

I've had one accident in almost 7 years of biking - about 3-4 years ago, argueably absolutely no way to avoid it, the women in question was just a total idiot - admitted full liability on the spot and beyond that - luckily.

If you ride like a tit and don't pay attention its probably not for you - or it is but not for long Rolling Eyes

If you have a bit of sense and are interested in continung biking, and have an interest in being 'safe' etc, you should be alright given a bit of allowance for karma and fate Thumbs Down

I personally found a Bikesafe course with the local police, and good read of Motorcycle Roadcraft helped
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle-Roadcraft-Police-Handbook-Motorcycling/dp/011341143X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1375225018&sr=8-2&keywords=roadcraft

Ultimately you can not bike, eat safely, live healthy and die of a spontaenous unpredicted heart failure in your bubble wrap life, so i wouldn't avoid biking by any means - just be as safe as you can be within reasonable means. For me i include good gear as part of that - many others will probably strongly disagree Mr. Green

^^^this! Had I not had my gear on when the smarmy twat in the X5 pulled out it would have hurt. Too wet to hoon. But yeah, road sense, good obs and good gear will always stack the cards in your favour.
